We have been long time clients of the West Seattle Animal Hospital and have been very pleased for the most part; however, we are currently considering leaving. Recently, we (like many others) have encountered temporary financial difficulty. Unable to afford all of the procedures that our pets need, procedures that we'd normally be able to afford with no problem, we have needed to work with the WSAH staff to take care of our pets' most pertinent issues first. We'd love to give our pets everything they need all at once, but we've needed to make a list of priorities because we just can't do it all right now. Although the staff is friendly, the facility is clean, and they obviously love animals, they just seem to have a hard time understanding that we can only afford the most necessary procedures at this time. We have to keep explaining it over and over to them and they seem a bit judgemental at times. If you can afford it, this is the place for you. If you run into financial isues, and you need a staff who will work with you on what you can afford, you may want to consider taking your pets elsewhere.
Very caring and professional....
I highly recommend Dr. Quincy and Dr. Gomez. These two women are extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring. I had a fourteen year-old dog, Bear, that had been cared for by W. Seattle Animal hospital her whole life. She ended up with Cushing's Disease, a very difficult disease to diagnose and treat. Bear made a great recovery for several months, and her quality of life was greatly enhanced by frequent care at W.S. A.H. When I had to put Bear to sleep, I was greatly comforted by the staff.
Now I have a new puppy, it's very healing to bring her into the facility and work with the doctors there under very different circumstances...squirming pup, shots, you know!
Can't thank them enough.
Best Vet I have ever been to...PERIOD. I have two dogs and they love going to visit Dr. Johnson. When we even say the word "Dr. Johnson" they bounce around like they are going to the park or something, only they get more excited to visit him than the park! We moved 4 years ago and have continued to drive 20+ miles (passing several vets along the way) I can't imagine my pups seeing another vet...they wont!
Great Experience with First Pet!.
I have had my new puppy, Andre, for five months now and am so grateful for the West Seattle Animal Hospital. They were recommended by a co-worker, and I am so glad I went. They are very knowledgeable, caring, prompt and thorough. Andre isn't scared, and has no problem going back again and again. We've had exams, vaccinations, and neutering here and have been 110% impressed with the care and knowledge from the staff. I can call anytime with questions I may have and they promptly connect me with a nurse to discuss. They have reasonable rates for a single 'Mom', and even carry reasonably priced pet products (food, beauty, treats). They are also very prompt - Of the six times I've been in the past five months I've never had to wait more than ten minutes. The office is also spacious and clean.
I did witness a 'disgruntled' customer who felt the receptionist was 'rude' once - but I have never felt that way and was surprised. They are always very friendly and helpful and take time to say Hi to Andre and discuss any questions I may have. See for yourself - but I think you'll be impressed with their services!
Truly exceptional care--and on moving day no less.
I have an indoor only "rescue cat" with a lot of problems. He has recently had some illness he can't kick with our usual care routine so I called, on a recommendation and with their web high score in mind, and they got me in 45 minutes later.
The care, concern, and smart approach they took with my cat were matched only by the pleasure they took in meeting him, cuddling with him and making him feel safe.
I don't go to a vet often, preferring acupuncture and a holistic approach to health, but I feel better now that I have a western med alternative that seems to really listen and respond effectively. Thanks!!
Not Very Cat Friendly. I did not feel like my cat and I received the same treatment as the dogs did at this vet. We had an appointment and were left waiting in the waiting room for 45 plus minutes while being told all the rooms were full however dog after dog were taken back before us. I was required to take her in to see an actually vet however the vet didn't even look at my cat and instead just pushed expensive tests on me for her to have. Overall, I felt like I spent more time than any dog owner did waiting for services and paid too much to have none of my real questions answered or even addressed. If you have a dog I'm sure this is a great vet to go to but if you have a cat, I'd find someplace else if you want good service.
The best in the West!.
I have been taking my 4 pets here for the past 3 years, and have been very happy with their services. Each time has been for different reasons with always the same consistency in services.
The vets (especially Dr. Johnson) are very caring and answer all your questions. I was very impressed with the thorough exam he gave my 14 year old cat Gypsy. He reccomended blood work for her thyroid, since her heart rate was so fast.
Thanks you West Seattle Animal Hospital!

Commuted 70 miles, each way, for Dr Quincy!. From Wallingford, to Port Orchard and now to Bothell, each place we've lived we still go to West Seattle for our Lab/Cattle Dog mix and Golden Retriever veterinary care. One is accident prone; one has skin issues. The staff truly *knows* our dogs, remembers our dogs and we entrust their well being to Dr Quincy and the staff unconditionally. They know their patients are available on evenings and weekends, so that's when they're open (what a concept!). My partner and I cannot speak highly enough of this professional, caring, convenient and capable practice (they're all great, but we love Dr Quincy!).
Best vets in town!. This vet practice (at Jefferson Square) is large, clean, and efficient. The counter staff are kind and knowledgeable; the veterinarians are superb. I trust my beloved pooch to their care, and would recommend them to anyone with pets.
GREAT Vet!!!. I would highly recommend this veterinarian to anyone looking! I brought my puppy and two ferrets in for vaccinations, and they were knowledable about the exotics and very sweet with all 3. The staff all stopped to say hi to the kids and give them pets. They made us feel comfortable with thier expertise. We would gladly recommend this vet to anyone who is looking!
