What People Are Saying About Alki Bakery & Cafe

In Short – No sane soul could ignore this bakery nestled alongside Seattle's busiest beach. If the scent of the famous cinnamon rolls doesn't lure you, then you'll saunter in just to figure out why so many people cheerfully line up inside, numbers in hand. They're there for the coffee, salads and sandwiches, not to mention the display case bursting with cookies, scones, muffins, cakes and pies.

Oh my gosh, the food here looks & tastes delish! I had the walnut brownies and I have to say these are probably the best brownies I have ever had. I also had a smoothie, but it was a bit too sweet. I noticed they had a pasta/dinner menu, which also looked good. I would like to come back sometime for dinner or lunch.
Great place to look out over Alki (if you can actually get a window seat.... it gets quite crowded) and people watch. Don't recommend coming here with a big group, but if you're alone or just with one friend, it would be no problem.
Great place, am definitely coming back!!!
- Pros: brownies, food, view
- Cons: very croweded because it's so popular
Great Food and People Watching

No matter what the weather, this is a great casual place to eat or hang out. We had salads for dinner (Caesar and Italian Chop) and they were both mighty fresh and hearty and under $7 a piece. Very friendly and quiet atmosphere. I've never been disappointed in the many times I've visited either location (Alki or 4th Ave). Their quiche rocks.
- Pros: VERY fresh food, Casual & Friendly
- Cons: A little chilly on rainy days
Good desserts/coffee

At the risk of sounding like an earth-muffin, this place used to have great feng shui. During a remodel years ago (someone literally drove a car through the front door on a midnight joyride) they removed the best parts -- including a customer bar facing the beach!
Note to owners: you should seriously re-remodel it using the original layout. Also, when one of your desserts continually sells out (say, the coconut chocolate chip macaroons) -- make bigger batches!
Great to grab and go..

Excellent chicken cashew crouisannt sandwhich. Other great snacks for a walk on the beach to work it off.
- Cons: A little slow on the weekends.
