Editorial Review for Circa Neighborhood Grill and Alehouse – by Mason Wardell
In Short
This gaily-painted, extremely popular West Seattle neighborhood grill hosts a large variety of beer with 15 taps and features several regional selections--but that's not the only reason locals pack in and wait eagerly near the front door for an open table. The simple menu offers inspired variations on comfort food like meatloaf and fish-and-chips but many regulars swear by the simple yet tasty Circa burgers.

I have been eating at Circa for years, and was shocked to hear all the negative service comments! Maybe the regulars get preference? In addition to moderately priced good food, I have always found the atmosphere to be friendly and gregarious. The staff and the customers are all delightful! Sitting alone at the bar and eating is a great pastime and interesting, intelligent conversation is guarenteed. Could it be that these comments come from a night I don't eat there?

You can always count on a good meal here, with nice servers. The place is a little small and the servers have a lot of tables to wrangle at once, so sometimes you have to wait a bit, and even when you get seated, you still wait for service. Burgers and salads are fantastic, and they have a nice wine and beer selection. Good for when you have family in town and want to head to Alki area without the crowds. Decent prices for what you get, and generous portions.
Pros: Nice servers, neighborhood feel
Cons: no parking, very small restaurant venue
