In Short
There's nothing very new about this place: The log cabin that houses it is more than 100 years old, the menu offers a solid selection of Atomic Age standards and the average age of the patrons is definitely above the national median. But diners don't mind when they're served the house special, a platter of fried chicken served family-style, or other dependable favorites like meatloaf, steaks and roast turkey with stuffing.

This place is simply amazing. My brother and his wife loved it so much they had is closed down to get married in there. They were great and the food was top of the line.

To start I'd like to say we read good revews on this place. We had reservations for a party of 16 and they had our table ready when we got there. When the first 3 of us arrived the waiter came and asked us for our drink order which we said we weren't ready at the moment but never came back to ask again when everyone arrived. When we received our food some was good, some was bad. There was a couple pieces of chicken that when bit into it was slightly bloody inside, and the order of scallops was undercooked. We're not a complaining bunch but when my grandfather told the waiter about these 2 items the waiter said that some people like their scallops raw but the chicken there was no excuse for. When we finally got our drinks the coca-cola was pure syrup, no carbonation. I understand that a large dinner party is probably a little stressful on the cook but we weren't in a hurry. There also weren't that many people there other than us. The atmosphere was a pretty log-cabin style that gave a homelike impression, we were all just disappointed about some of the food. No complaints on the grilled salmon or the mac&cheese.

This is one of our favorite hidden gems in Seattle. We have introduced countless friends to the Alki Homestead and have always had a great experience. They have the best fried chicken on the west coast, serve family style - the food is just good home cooking without a lot of frills. Where else can you go for fried chicken, linen table clothes, river rock fireplace and a taste of Seattle history? Highly recommended!
