Repairs there are always ups and downs - Mine was WAY UP
by SeattleTracy at Citysearch
The day before yesterday my 1996 Saab 900 burned up one of the wheels managing the serpentine belt. I limped the car home. I took another car to work and I called Moe at 8am and explained what was wrong and asked that he tow it to the shop and fix it.
My wife came home at 3pm to find that the car was still in front of the house. When she checked the mailbox she found the car key and note note from Moe saying he fixed the car and would call me in a day or two to tell me how much the repair was. He called the next day and the price was the least expensive I have ever had for anything on the Saab. All this to say I hate cars, and hate them more when they break. Moe gave me the only car repair experience I ever smiled about.
Like I said everyplace has good experiences and bad experiences. This one rocked!! Thanks Moe.
Kind and generous auto repair

Moe has taken care of my 1986 Saab for more than 15 years. He came to my office when my car wouldn't start, cleaned the battery cables, and jump-started the car - no charge! I don't know how many times I've stopped by with small problems - needing air in my tires, power steering fluid, etc. - no charge! When the car couldn't pass the emissions test, he adjusted something so it would - no charge! Ordered replacement tires from Costco which took a long time - he sold me a tire to use while waiting, very low price. His prices are always very reasonable. I don't believe he dumps waste in the storm drain. Did you ask what he was dumping? It was probably water.
Moe Dumps His Waste In The Storm Drain On The Corner!!!!

Watched the owner or one of his workers dump a 5 gallon bucket of what looked to be radiator fluid into the storm drain on the corner in front of the business. Please do not give your business to someone who is set on killing our pets, puget sound, and wildlife in the area. This is just plain unacceptable!
Moe's... What's the point?

This is my first ever posted review of any business anywhere. I usually let things slide, but I cannot do that with Moe any longer. Bottom line: take your car somewhere else. I’ve taken my 9-3 to Moe since I bought it three years ago. The problem is that the majority of his attempted “fixes” didn’t actually fix anything. Overall, I think he’s 2 for 6 for getting it right. He’s tried to fix an ABS sensor, leaky tail lights, a radio, and a rear window first with wood block bracing then a window regulator. For two of these failed fixes he’s refused a refund, for one he gave a refund, for the other I’m sure there’s no point asking. After this last job failed (twice – first the bracing failed, then the regulator failed), Moe became irate when I asked for a refund, saying refund was not an option, he tried 3 times, he’s tired of wasting his time, etc. etc. All in, I’ve wasted at least $450 and hours of time dealing with Moe. Clearly I’m the one whose time’s been wasted. Like I said, go elsewhere.
Great Saab mechanic

I've been taking my Saab to Moe for over 3 years now and I believe he is the fairest and cheapest Saab mechanic in the greater Seattle area. I have called him a number of times with mechanical problems and he has always been helpful on the phone. When he knew what the problem was (like my O2 sensor) he quoted me a price over the phone stuck to it. In every case, he was significantly cheaper than the other major non-dealership Saab mechanics, and as for dealerships...we don't even need to go there! I would highly recommend Moe's to anyone with a Saab, especially older Saabs as he has been very helpful in tracking down parts.
- Pros: Quotes prices and sticks to them. Very reasonable.
- Cons: Could be a bit more centrally located
