Tami Vornbrock, the owner and Certified Master Groomer taught the class on how to brush/comb (line brushing and deshedding), oral hygeine (water additives & teeth brushing) ears cleaning and nail trims for your dog. We also learned how to select a groomer. Washington State doesn't have a licensing requirement so it's important to ask if the groomer is certified and a member of the International Professional Groomers. If not, find out where they were trainined. You should also ask about the salon's sanitation protocol. Excellent class!!!
The best we've tried!. We have had our dog for 13 years and have taken him to a few different groomers hoping to find one that we would be comfortable with. We found that here! They are gentle and loving, and our Australian comes our looking like a million bucks. We won't take him anywhere else. These women obviously love animals, their jobs and it shows. Thanks so much!
Great Pet Grooming. The ladies here are awesome. They are a tad bit pricey but I think they are worth it. They love the animals, which makes you feel comfortable to leave your pet with them. I would recommend them to any and all pet owners for grooming. I have never used the other services in this establishment but the other staff are courteous and friendly.
Fun doggy shop in a great neighborhood. This is a doggy- and people-friendly shop in the heart of Columbia City. Each time I go in there, the staff takes a little time to work with me and answer questions I might have - the latest was buying a holistic flea powder. The staff person talked to me about her experiences with it, whether to use it in conjunction with a veterinary-prescribed flea medicine, and how long until I saw results. There are also fantastic toys and treats in there, and they stock healthy, high quality pet food. I also heard that they now deliver to your car - just call ahead of time and they'll bring the food out back to you. I think this is a great shop and don't really understand a few of the negative reviews. Say hi to Kosmo, the resident sweet pea dog.
Super Nice Staff. I was so happy to find a pet place that could help me with dog's shedding! Not only is there a great groomer there to help me but the young lady in the store helped with this new brush called the "Furminator". I was skeptical about the price (very expensive brush) but it is a miracle! It took piles of hair off my dog! The gal helped me out for a long time and showed me how to use it. She let me make a hairy mess right there on the floor! Thanks for having a friendly store! And my dog loved the bakery treats!
not impressed. They were very short with me and and completely ignored my dog (rescued pitt mix). Just be cause he is a pitt mix. It seemed like they didnt like him. HE LOOKS LIKE A LAB. i had him on a leash. Thankfully i didnt have my pug with me! They didnt want to answer my questions on brushing him, maybe because he looks like a low maintenance dog to a groomer. BUT I WANTED TO KNOW HOW TO BRUSH HIM BETTER- THEY SURE DID DROP THE BALL ON THIS CUSTOMER. I will find someone else to take care of my dogs
Can't beat it!. Just so nice to have this place in the neighborhood! Amazed at the selection of foods (none of their brands were recalled!) so I feel good about shopping there. Also their prices are really reasonable. They were really helpful when I went in with Otto ( my rescue mutt). Great to have a self serve dog wash, saves having a mess in the house. Anyway I'd reccommend them to everyone.
2 Paws Up for Grooming Services!.
I am a long time customer of the grooming salon at Pet Elegance that is now called Canine Design. Tami the groomer and her staff is wonderful. I am writing a rebuttal about the previous review written by an obviously disgruntelled person. That customer claims his dog was returned home because his/her dog was too "nasty". Canine Design has sent only sent home 2 dogs in their entire career. The dog has to be really bad in order for them to do that. Even so they do not get mad at the customer. I know because my dog is very dificult and they can handle him and he is not stressed out when I pick him up. Any employee there that would act or say what he claims they said would be fired on the spot. This person is not being truthful and is out to cause trouble. No wonder their dog is "Nasty". The dog must get it from the owner.
Canine Design Grooming at Pet Elegance is the best!
Horrable experience. I just moved to the area and needed to get my dog groomed. He was abused as a puppy and has some problems. I was upfront with his issues when I made the appointment and told them again when I brought him in. They told me there would be no problem that they have 10 years of experience. Within a hour they were calling me to pick up my dog saying he is "Nasty". I got down there and they told me he tried bitting them. Ok I told them his problems they said it would not be a problem. Has no other dog ever tried bitting them? They shaved his back and he lookes worse than he did when I brought him in. They said I need to really think about how much effort I'm willing to put in to this dog. They said I may need to put him down. What type of people that work with animals would say something like that. They have 10 years experience and the groomer I took him to before I moved never had a problem with him for a whole year. I would not recomend anyone taking there animal here.
Full service, great selection, nice staff. This is a great place to take care of all your pet needs - fun selection, great, knowledgeable staff, grooming, and self-serve dog washes with nice products. Definitely recommend...
