Seattle >Car Toys INC
A surprise turnaround!. At first my service wasn't great. I was having problems with a car alarm they had installed a number of years ago. The first people that helped me there wer not very helpful, and told me most likely I needed to have a new alarm system installed. But when it came time to replace the alarm, the two people that helped me, JT and Hong, were incredibly helpful, letting me know that I DIDN'T need to replace the alarm, and it was working fine. That was incredibly honest. I was all prepared to have to pay for a new alarm system.
I have spend a pretty penny with Car Toys, and had nothing but horrible experiences. They have scratched my dash, scratched the screen to the $1200 deck I had installed, and most recently left a giant ass dent in the corner panel of my Denali... then denied it. At least the moron left some of his tools in my car, which I of course did not return. They are in your face the second you walk in and want you to buy EVERYTHING, then quote you... then sneak in bull$hit "fees". I can say I will NEVER EVER buy a damn thing from these @ssholes. If you want to nickle and dime everyone, tear up their property, you have to expect people will eventually take their business elsewhere.... which is just what I'm going to do.
Later Car Toys..
It's not "A better Way to Go", it's
"A Better Way to Go... somewhere else"
They did right by me. After reading the reviews here I went to Car Toys with some hesitation. Everyone I talked to, including people in the business, recomended them and all the other businesses had equally poor reviews so I gave Car Toys a try. My experience was a positive one. My purchase of an auto alarm system went very smoothly. I found the shop personal to be knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. They answered my questions and gave me advice about some special concerns I had. Everything went smoothly and I would not hesitate to use them again.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Auto electronics include audio, navigation, in-car theater, security systems, radar detectors and performance parts. Also offers wireless phones and accessories.
Avoid ESP insurance. Don't buy the ESP insurance when you buy a cell phone from Car Toys. It only covers repair. If you lose your phone you will have to wait the two years to get your money back.
I purchased an aftermarket deck at crutchfield to save some money. I first went to stereo warehouse down the street but it seemed somewhat shady. I brought it to Car toys because they had a nice lifetime installation warranty on their service. I was also a little worried about doing the nav wiring myself. A rep named Muzaffar helped me and got a price quote which was insanely high ($800 for the complete install). I was traveling soon and needed my in dash nav system installed so I only went with the essentials. Still costed $400 to install even with my own self bought accessories.
I was about to head back to stereo warehouse but decided Car toys seemed like a better establishment especially with the price I was paying. Nice thing was Mazaffar dropped my new deck on the floor by accident and tried to play it off. I was later told that I had to wait for tomorrow to get my deck installed but Mazaffar somehow convinced an installer to stay late to complete it. I was first asked to pay another $50 to do this. I was ready to head out and asked for a refund. I really needed to get my nav system installed before my trip so I didn't have much choice.
Mazaffar somehow later convinced the installer to do it for the same price. Deck installed great but my unit will not read cds/dvds which I'm probably sure was from the nice drop off the counter. I will try to RMA my unit back from crutchfield but won't tell them about the nice drop it had to the floor. STAY away from car toys! If you want to pay high prices for poor service then by all means go there. At least Nav works. I'll just be stuck listening to the radio without my CDs.
car toys broad street seattle avoid at any cost selling or you will leave with it costing you. purchased car toys extended cell phone warranty this cost two hundred dollars for two years(lost my phone..... ) car toys warranty does not cover loss!!!!!!!!!! (when i contacted horizon they told me that their warranty which would have cost six dollars each month for a total of one hundred fourty four dollars ,and would have covered everything, including loss was available to me when i signed up at car toys. of course i was not told i had a another option at time of sale. this was the car toys on broad street seattle. Now does anyone know if i have a legal right against this kind of deceptive selling~
Biggest MORONS ever.
Wow...I came home and got on the internet just to find a place to complain about the idiots at Car Toys on Broad Street.
I'll make it simple. It took 1 hour and 21 minutes for my friend to buy a phone.. These are a few of my favorite quotes
FRIEND: What color does this phone come in?
CARTOYSGUY: I dont know
FRIEND: Can I Change my phone number here?
CARTOYSGUY: I dont know
FRIEND: I'm on my mothers family plan..which address should I put?
CARTOYSGUY: I dont know
They didn't know ANYTHING. This guy who was helping us had to ask his boss everything. I could have done it faster!
This has happened before to me too. I brought a vehicle in for a new sound system...it was installed...and then a few hours later someone almost rear ended me BECAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK! The installer had somehow messed this up...
THEN i brought it back and he said there was no way he could have done this....so i brought it to honda..they said, 'it was the guy who put the sound system in, he crossed some wires!"
There not enough fun stuff IN that place to look at, when you are as bored and annoyed as i know we ALL ARE...im surprised those people can feed and dress themselves.
