Seattle >Continental Furniture
I love this furniture store!. I had a great experience here. They're one of my favorite furniture stores in Seattle. Continental is a spacious furniture shop are filled with classic leather furniture, desks, bureaus, and sectional sofas, antique-looking mahogany dining tables and a real range of styles. These guys have great sales too.
Sleazebags. No other word for it. Call it for what it is. Look at the other review and look at mine and come to your own conclusion. My own experience: We purchased two expensive leather study chairs and a large (and very expensive) china cabinet from them in January 2000. After delivery was completed and we were putting the shelves in, we realized that the holes for the shelves were misdrilled on one side. We contacted them and their first response was to offer to drill additional new holes! We told them no, we wanted it replaced. It took 5 months for a replacement to come through with a lot of tense phone calls. By the end I was threatening legal action (and these were expensive enough that small claims isn't an option). They brought the replacement and all was done. Or so I thought: six months later the doors on the bottom expanded and warped to where you can't open or close them. I was so fed up with them I never called. They are like this still today. As if this experience years ago weren't bad enough, I was SEVEN YEARS after this disaster telemarketed by Continental Furniture to come to a furniture auction. Unwanted telemarketing calls are bad enough. But one would expect that given the clearly negative experience they would have the common sense to not put me on their calling list. It appears they lack that common sense or respect for the customer. Overall, I consider these people the sleaziest I've ever dealt with ever.I wouldn't use them if they were the only furniture store on the planet.
Terrible customer service. I wouldn't do business with this furniture store again, particularly due to it?s service department?s lack of customer service and organization. We had a sofa custom made from this store and within 1.5 years the buttons on either side of the throw cushions have come off 3 times. Each time I was told to phone the service department, (a completely separate entity) to find out what they could do to fix it. Each time I phoned the ?service? dept, I had to leave a message, and wait for them to call back. I made multiple phone calls over 3 wks and left messages as they never called back. This happened in both instances where the buttons had fallen off! Finally, they sent someone to sew the buttons on, which took all of 5-6 minutes to do each time. The third time the buttons fell off it took an unbelievable 11 phone calls combined, to the manager of the store, and to the manager of the service department, over a 2 month period. The manager of the service department finally called me back to say there is nothing they could do since the purchase was over a year old and asked me to contact an outside upholsterer/repair company instead who wanted $85!!! I said no to this obscene price, and after much discussion, they finally agreed to and PROMISED to send out a repairer to our home to once again sew the buttons back on. They also agreed that this was a recurring problem and they would contact the manufacturer to cover the cost. The day before the set appointment, the manager left a message that they will NOT be sending anyone out afterall as they were too busy. There was no mention of the discussion with the manufacturer either. Furthermore, the manager could not even get the dates right or speak clearly and professionally when leaving the message that my ?service? they had promised was being cancelled. So, I am left with a cushion that still needs repair, hours of time wasted trying to deal with this company, and regret that we had our sofa made through them.
