Wall of Sound is my favorite place to shop for experimental CDs and records. They have a good selection of music, particularly experimental and avant garde (new and used) as well as world, jazz, pop/rock, etc, and there are listening stations available so you can preview the music. The owners are knowledgeable and helpful! They also put on a monthly evening of live music at the Jewel Box Theater. Confounded Books is located in the same building.

This truley is the best place to go for local and national Zines. They have hundreds in all shape and sizes, each one more original than the next. They also have random magazines and books on art and music. The guys that work their are always really helpful and more than willing to order something for you if they dont have it in stock. Plus, now that the store has merged with Wall of Sound it's even better!

This is my favorite place for indie magazines. I can get the most outlandish material. Don't let that take away the fact that the selections cover all aspects of music, art, lifestyles, etc. The location is quite cool as well. After I get a new magazine, I'll usually hit a cafe, restaurant, music store, or bar to read my material. Oh man the urban life rules! I am glad this store is part of my daily experience in Seattle, WA. PROS: choices are plenty CONS: none
