The Scene – The sticker on the cigarette machine reads, "Alcoholics serving alcoholics since 1929." Though partially based in fact, it's the self-deprecating attitude that's responsible for this watering hole's longevity. Dark, smoky and loud--especially in the evening--Five Point is that rare kind of spot where ashtrays are "cleaned" by dumping the contents on the floor, where the bartenders will axe a jukebox selection not to their liking and coasters occasionally whiz through the air. The floor is black and white, and so is the attitude--have a sense of humor or…

Get OVER IT SERVICE PEOPLE

by GKP at Citysearch

First of all for all the critics of getting good service at any 24 hour joint in city...SHUT IT!! If you came to this place to eat then expect to be there a little bit. You have a cafe with a staff that is open 24 hours a day and putting up with a different variety of customers on all levels. I have been to the 5 point on numerous occasions and my experience there was GREAT.....because I came there for one purpose...to eat some comfort food! I wasn't expecting the best service at all...even the best food....but when I want to enjoy a belly filling meal...that is the place to go.

I gave a rating of 4/5 because I do enjoy great service....but this is not the reason why I go to the 5 point. I go cause if I want to eat a big breakfast anytime of the day they have the best meal for your buck! If you want posh service go eat at Salties on Alki!! Get over the service there people....its not there to comfort your feelings!

  • Pros: Great hangover and comfort food in Belltown area
  • Cons: speedy service

WORST SERVICE EVER

by tacticalmedic77 at Citysearch

Just a little history, I am in the military and I have been all around the world from Korea to the Middle East. This place has the worst service I have ever experienced.

My mother in law and step son came to visit and I figured I would take them there for breakfast since it is right around the corner.

I had my 4 year old son in a stroller that folds up and the five of us strolled in there and went to the back of Five Point. The waitress walked up and stated " This is not going to work". I then explained to her that I was going to fold the stroller up and stow it. She looked at me with a confused look and said "how many are you?" I was going to ask my 4 year old to count for her but i saved her the embarassment.

I then decided not to stay and eat I told her ok were not going to eat here and we got up and started to leave. She then stated No I would like to serve you guys and I said No we are leaving she then stated there was no where else to get breakfast, I looked at her like she was crazy. I asked her if I could speek to the Manager and she raised her hand and said "Here I am" I was in shock.

You figure with the economy in the shape it is the service would be more inviting. If this place makes it I will be surprized, the service is everything in todays time and ths service here sukks, I think the manager should be canned like tuna for being sutch a &*()%$

  • Pros: WE GOT OUT OF THERE BEFORE WE ORDRED
  • Cons: EVERYTHING

Best Bartender in Seattle!

by indykacey at Citysearch

Don't listen to the negative nancy's below... this place rocks! We stopped in to load up on drinks before a concert and found the staff to be awesome and the regulars to be even more awesome! I'd love to go back or even reconnect with John and "Jack"! Why... why didn't I get email addresses! haha. Oh well, back in indy now. :(

Thanks for entertaining us on our last night in town!
