Don't waste your time or Indie Indie Hipper than Thou.
Been in twice over the last several months, first time couldn't even get noticed by the bartender who actively ignored my group despite the fact the place was more than half empty. Yesterday was just
another example of the negative vibe towards anyone not fitting the "hipster" image. Were one of two groups in the place and the bartender was incredibly insulting when my group complained about the other table bogarting the shuffleboard pieces... Informed us we weren't "being nice" for not playing with the other group who we waited for over an hour to finish. This isn't gym class and it's not a mixer. People should play nice and the bartender is responsible for everyone's experience, not just those in the skinny jeans.
p.s. This place would make a ton more casholla if you changed your attitude. But... suit yourself. Fail.…
crazy bartender. regarding angelsurta's post, i am a regular at the lava lounge and i would have assumed that she was overreacting if i hadn't seen the whole thing happen. I have never seen this kind of confrontation between a bartender and a customer, and the fact that she is a woman made it even more shocking and awful. the bartender basically lost his mind at her, called her horrible names and physically muscled her out the door when she really was acting completely rational considering the circumstances. i saw the same guy working soon after so he didn't get fired which is completely shocking to me. all that being said, i have never had another bad experience there and apparently that particular bartender is just a very bad seed.…

I am a female who attended this bar and my friend was served a beer with a SHARD of GLASS in it.
His mouth was sliced and bleeding. I went to comlain to the bartenders who didn't care.
I proceeded to ask for the managers number, and they refused to give it to me, so I called the police.
They began SCREAMING in my face, F you, you F'n B...., get the F out of the bar! Then proceeded to grab me, push and shove me around, and force me outside. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!…
Regular for over 13 years!. I have been coming to this bar for over 13 years regularly. It's just a few doors down from work so often later at night. Love the bar staff, friendly crowd, pet friendly, HOEGAARDEN on tap, & that crazy-ass DJ Jerry! I am and allways will be a regular as long as that building stands!…
Good Drinks!!. I've been going to the Lava Lounge for about 2yrs now and I like it. The bartenders are all pretty AWESOME and the drinks are reasonably priced for Bell Town. I do believe I like going there more during the day and early night before all the crap-heads and ditsy girls come out from their condos and such. But, other than the normal crappy weekend bar people this bar is my FAVORITE! The drinks are strong, the regulars are cool, and the bartenders and door guys are Super cool. I will say that at times on certain days the music can be a little lame. But, I came to drink, so what do I care. One more thing the bartender on Saturday afternoon is amazing, can be friendly and the Lava is definitely not overwhelmingly crowded, big plus for someone just wanting a drink before starting out the night or ending their day.…
