HOME SWEET HOME.
I like Kelly's.
I despise the fact that it become cool to hang-out in dive-bars. I've always been a patron of places like Kelly's. I come here to drink. Alone. The tired, poor, huddled masses that fill this place are real people, with real problems that most will never know. The insurmountable tribulations in my own life are washed away while I am surrounded by the pitiable, wretched and sad that inhabit this city.
So if you do bring your hipster/east-side/college-boy/wannabe ass through the door and you get stared-down, stabbed-up, cheated or made to feel like less of a person than bravo Kelly's your work here is done.
Local riff raff and homeless hangount. If you like Bud in a can while chillin with a bunch of homeless folks who happened to have parked their luggage under the pool table for the evening, while they are drinking away pocket change that they have pan handled earlier on the street, this is definitely your kind of hangout. If you go in there at night and the entire bar stops in its tracks and everyone turns around to stare at you like you just don't belong there, yep this is definitely your type of place... On the other hand if you are looking for a normal tavern with normal people - don't go in there or you'll need to stay for a Bud in a can so that you don't offend anyone by just turning around and leaving, like you're better then them...
