Editorial Review for Patagonia – by Jessica Roncker
The Scene
Patagonia caters to outdoor enthusiasts and environmentalists alike with a wide array of clothing and gear. The large Belltown location is squeaky clean, with wood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and a couple of comfy, leather armchairs. The athletic employees (plus the books and magazines for sale) address dozens of sport topics from alpine peaks to sea kayaking--and everything in between.
The Goods
Patagonia's Capilene polyester wicks moisture from your skin, dries quickly and is softer than a lot of polypro on the market. Capilene is in Patagonia long underwear, boxer shorts, shirts, tops and glove liners and is a staple for climbers, bikers and runners.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasDon't go to Patagonia looking for a sale. The only time there may be price reductions is after the Christmas season. Discontinued merchandise is sent to outlet stores.
Look GoodThe philosophy of Patagonia clothing is to have cross-over items usable for several sports. If your interests are diverse, ask about the best way to outfit yourself.
Know Before You GoIf what you need isn't in the store or catalog, an employee will be happy to call other stores for you.
