Tsofia is the best for coloring and cut

I have been seeing Tsofia at Gary Manuel for 14 years. She understands all hair types, the best coloring for your skin tone, and the best cut to keep you looking fresh. I would seriously fly from out of state to see her. She is very talented and is the instructor or Phase 3 of the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute hair stylist training program (the coloring phase of training). You will not be disappointed.

Michelle is great

Michelle has been my stylist for twenty years. She's accompanied me on a journey through middle age: counselor, strategist, cheerleader, friend and artist. When I've needed a change of course she's helped me find a new look: color, style, shape, mood. Michelle helped me find my way from curly to straight to wavy to avant guard to a more contemporary version of my curly youthful look. Throughout she has been professional, resourceful and - when necessary - firm. But always supportive of me and my goals. She understands that hair can pa metaphor for much more, for life's twists and turns and for empowerment and risk. Finally, Michelle is kind: when I was recovering from a terrible accident Michelle came, on her own time, and generously washed and colored my hair in my home when I was confined to a wheelchair. Pretty special. An lots of fun.

Maria is Ah-Maz-Ing!

Maria is the best. So skip this review if you're not interested in the best! I followed Maria over from Phase 3 because she is extremely good at what she does. Choosing colors, cuts and styles in a very knowledgeable, talented and inspired way. I had been highlighting my hair for a few years and it was getting very light. After Maria's insight and creativity on our first appointment at Phase 3, I knew I had found a stylist who understood what looked best on my face and with my features and skin tone and who could execute it flawlessly each and every time... tweaking it up to keep the boy on his feet, but always making it look flawless, natural, beautiful and flattering. Now I'm a ravishing brunette and love it.

Aside from her skills, she's a wonderful, smart, funny, thoughtful, deep and interesting woman. I look forward to seeing her for my appointments so I can seep up her advice, insight and knowledge, not only regarding my hair but also all the non-hair related aspects of my life. I'm sure Maria would be happy to have a quiet appointment if that's what you prefer, but personally I relish in her insight and find myself referring to "what maria said" for days to come with my girlfriends.

If you are looking for a fabulous cut, color that makes you shine and a style that makes you feel like a $$million$$ bucks - go see Maria! I assure you, you will NOT regret it.

Maria is a Creative Genius!!

I started getting my hair done with Maria at Phase 3, and followed her to the main salon. She is amazing, professional, and visionary! For both haircut and color she listens to what you are looking for, and knows what looks good with your particular face shape, skin tone, and personal style. I personally have very straight, fine hair on the thinner side and she is a master at creating incredible volume and texture in both short and longer styles.

I can safely say that I have been thrilled with every cut and color I have had with Maria over the years. Before I went to this salon, I had never had my hair professionally colored. Now? I'm addicted! She has done some awesome overall color and multi-dimensional foils on my hair, running the gamut from red to brown to blonde and back again. She's amazing at it all! Also, she's just a very kind, entertaining, and intelligent person who is a joy to talk to during my appointments. If you need a breath of fresh air, a creative, professional stylist who will make you look great, then go to Maria!!!

!Maria RoX!

I met Maria last year during her last week at Phase 3! and thank goodness I did because I followed her next door to Gary Manuel without question.

She did such a fantastic job of not only calming down my hair but also calming my mind that I knew it was meant to be.

So let's talk about the person: She's witty, a painter, artistic, creative, and real. There is never a moment of silence when we're together. I guess she can be conservative if she want's to be but that's what I enjoy about her that she's not and we can have conversations that make my day.

On the hair tip: I have a crazy Brazilian afro (actually long thick curly coarse hair) that drives me crazy most of the time. Over the last year Maria has helped me learn a thing or two about it including: styling changes, product suggestions that have really worked, and has gotten me back on the color wagon.

Being in Nursing School for the last 4 years I've erred on the side of conservative but Maria has really helped me bring ideas from pictures or descriptions to life in a personalized way that suits me taking into consideration my concerns. She tells me when things can, will, won't, or shouldn't work for me and then creates a version that does.

Speaking of color I just recently added it to my hair with fantastic peekaboo highlights which I LOVE!!! I had really been shying away from the idea but with encouragement I took the plunge and should of been doing it a long time ago.

So if you're looking for someone who is skilled, interesting, and willing to listen to your needs please make a trip to see her. She's well worth it and I "heart" her very much.
