Honest, professional service. I recently had a problem with my ground-level plumbing (water backing up into the shower). After talking to several plumbers, I chose Downtown Plumbing based on my initial conversation with Rich. His rates are reasonable (lower than the other plumbers I talked to), but his real strength is his ability to clearly communicate his thinking and plan of attack. Rich and his workers did the job (installing an external cleanout, examining the main sewer line with a camera) quickly and professionally. I'll definitely use him again in the future.

Does not return calls. I read the first review that said that Downtown Plumbing did not return a call, but I decided that everyone deserves one mistake. But, they did it again. Left a call (off-hours). Did not expect a response that night as it wasn't an emergency, so waited until 5:30 pm (on-hours) the next day, and left another message, but still no call. I wonder if Richard will come back and apologize again? I did have one conversation with Richard before I tried to book him, and it was helpful, so it might be a matter of being too busy. But, that is no excuse. I have a friend who owns a contracting business and he said he would NEVER not return a call. Besides being theoretically bad for business (although for a specialty building related businesses in a building boom area, it probably wouldn't hurt any), he thinks that it also just reflects badly on his character.

Great experience! Highly recommend!. I can't really speak much to their price, being a first time home owner I've never had any need to call a plumber before, but co-workers and friends indicate it was very reasonable. However, I can say the guy showed up right when he said he would, got right to work on the plugged tub and when he was done made sure there was nothing else we needed and went on his way. In and out and everything was back to normal in the tub in around 15 minutes which is good since they bill by the quarter hour and not by the job. I highly recommend this business.

Good luck finding someone better than Rich. Plumbers, mechanics, insurance agents, handyman, yard service, we all try to fiind one who's honest, that looks out for the customer vs padding his/her wallet, etc., etc. I own a rental house on QA, and have used Rich at least 6 times over the past few years and never regreted a penny i've spent with him.

He's prompt, efficient, professional, easy to deal with and flat out a good guy.

Best Plumber I've Ever Used. This guy is the best in town. He is honest, fair, and reasonable. He installed toilets, faucets, and then came back to fix factory defects in the faucets twice! Very responsive and quick to follow-up on voicemails. His work is impeccable. Plus he is an all around decent person and one I will call for all my plumbing needs.
