definetly would not recommend. went w/a group of about 10...and never have me and my friends been treated so RUDLEY. the waitress IGNORED us so we found our own seats, went to the bar to get a few drinks the bartender RUDLEY IGNORED us obviously to us he really didn't want to serve us and told us to go sit down @ a table and he'll get our order. as soon as he gets our order offends a couple of my friends @ that point we had enough and got up and left. heard good things about this place...to my DISAPPOINTMENT i've been served better @ gas stations than this place. I RECOMMEND NOT GOING.
SMOKE FREE UNTIL 9 PM!.
I have always loved Six Arms, great beer, great burgers (for those of you who care, they use Oregon Country Beef), great atmosphere. Now that they are non-smoking until 9PM (NO JOKE!) we love to come here whenever we can! They offer yummy grilled cheese or PBJ's for kids, and it's not a bad place to take them.
PS, veggies--the hummous plate kick's some serious butt!!
Terminator Stout. The terminator stout is a very good beer - almost too good.
RUBY BEER. The Ruby beer here is the best!! Its brewed with raspberries and so it's fruity and sweet. I highly recommend it for those beer lovers. I really also like the ruben sandwich. I don't recommend the pasta or the french dip.
A neighborhood pub with great burgers proves itself to be more than just a link in the chain..
The Scene
Since it belongs to the ever-present McMenamins chain, it's a pleasant surprise that Six Arms fits so well into Capitol Hill's independent spirit. The planning is certainly obvious--it's got that upscale-grunge look--but nothing feels forced. Big, funky dark wood booths and a fine selection of ales make this a real neighborhood joint. Servers are quick with suggestions and happy to check with the kitchen on special orders.
The Draw
Cocktails are on the menu, but housebrewed beer holds the place of honor. Of the many McMenamins branded taps, two are nitrogenated (rather than carbonated), and supply a clean, unusual flavor that's worth sampling. To go with your generous plate of beer-battered fish and chips or fat, juicy burger, try the sampler plate of brews that offers a few sips of every variety.
Good for casual gatherings.. All the times I've gone to the Six Arms it's been with groups of 6 or more (sometimes as many as 25, upstairs) and we've been pretty pleased with what we got. The service was a little slow now and then, and once at 1am they ran out of literally everything on the menu (so it seemed), but I still like the place. They have hard cider, which is a plus for me. :) Some vegetarian options.
This place Rocks!. They have the best damn hamburgers. Don't order anything else, except for maybe the Chicken Caeser sandwich. If you like dark and dank that's the place to go. Especially if your date is ugly the choice beer will make up for that.
World's Best Pub Food.
The food here is so consistently good, you won't believe it. Great service and reasonable prices too. The music is always interesting, but not overbearing. Try a "Ruby" beer if you go there.
This place would be absolutely perfect except they let everyone smoke throughout the whole place so you most often get a good gulp of smoke along with your food. As a result, we only go there every once in a while. It would be the ideal neighborhood hang-out except for that.
Neighborhood Default. I wouldn't say that Six Arms is an exceptional restaurant or bar, but with decent food and reliable drinks, it's a solid, satisfying after-work, meet-for-an-early-drink, what-else-can-are-we-gonna-do-tonight? spot.
