The food at La puerta isn't authentic Mexican food or anything. Their food is average though the staff is friendly and welcoming. Not a bad place to go in large groups

I have gone to La Puerta so much in the last 3 years that the waitstaff recognizes me, and I am always in their for the same thing: Enchiladas Suizas. I absolutely love mexican food and by mexican food I mean enchiladas. Hands down, these are the best I've ever had in my 23 years on earth. As for the rest of La Puerta... I really do not like their salsa, their chips are average, their rice is good, their refried beans are good, and my friends who order other things (besides the suizas) never really complain so it seems they can do at least a serviceable job on the rest of their menu. Seriously, the suizas are good; I've had 6-7 people in there before, all ordering the suizas and loving them.

I read the review about the vegetarian food with some trepidation, expecting tasty food. I shared veggie fajitas with my wife, so our order wasn't very expansive. Our veggies were obviously from a bag of frozen veggies, soggily re-heated. The tortillas were also out of a bag. I could have made this at home, and it would have been better - and cheaper! Definitely not authentic, or all-cooked on site.
