The Scene
The Wild Rose provides a relaxing environment for women who love women. Female-themed artwork complements an appropriately darkened space, but what sets the mood here apart from other gay bars in Seattle is an unequivocally welcoming attitude toward people of both genders. As long as you don't mind the sight of girls kissing (and don't make the mistake of gawking), the Rose will always treat you right.
The Draw
The bartenders and servers here go out of their way to make things comfortable and the drinks strong. Skip most of the designer drinks with one notable exception: a generous pour of the Rose's own Crazy Cosmo ($7.50), made with Sauza Tres Generaciones Anejo Tequila, triple sec, cranberry and lime juice. The bar menu is also above average, with lip-smacking house potatoes and thick, tasty bean and cheese quesadillas.

Capitol Hill's one and only lesbian bar is open to all. Thats about it "open" !! my experience at this one and only lesbian bar was a disappointment, it is definitely a clique lesbian bar, if you're not in the "A" list, you're ignored by the "members". i'll go to another gay/lesbian bar any night!! besides i'm a budweiser gurl... what is this Select budweiser???

Story time: Years ago my son and his friend went to the wild rose and were treated like second class citizens. Afterwards, I went there for a beer and to see what they were complaining about. I wanted to get sick. Real dirty place and prejudice as all get out. Women who hate men. I am a man and I don't hate women. I like them. There neat! The ladies should not hate people because they are different. Me? I have never met a lady that I did not like.

It's unfortunate that the only girl bar in Seattle has now opened up band nights that attract crowds into a small bar that is not set up for hosting bands. The staff is rude, service is poor, and their community support is aweful. They charge a cover, which is ridiculous for a pre-funk or hangout atmosphere, but they stay in business as the only girl bar in Seattle. Someone please open up a girl bar, so the only choice is not the Rose!

Where to Sit:
There are two sides--the bar side and the pool table side. The pool table side is a bit darker, a bit more private, and more overtly girl-for-girl.
Know Before You Go:
It's not a meat market or a particularly sexual environment; the best way for a woman to meet a woman is to sit at the bar and strike up a very mellow conversation.
