The Scene – The Wild Rose provides a relaxing environment for women who love women. Female-themed artwork complements an appropriately darkened space, but what sets the mood here apart from other gay bars in Seattle is an unequivocally welcoming attitude toward people of both genders. As long as you don't mind the sight of girls kissing (and don't make the mistake of gawking), the Rose will always treat you right. – – The Draw – The bartenders and servers here go out of their way to make things comfortable and the drinks strong. Skip most of the designer drinks with…

"open" to members only!

by kiiyaani

Capitol Hill's one and only lesbian bar is open to all. Thats about it "open" !! my experience at this one and only lesbian bar was a disappointment, it is definitely a clique lesbian bar, if you're not in the "A" list, you're ignored by the "members". i'll go to another gay/lesbian bar any night!! besides i'm a budweiser gurl... what is this Select budweiser???

Just a plain dirty bar

by richard98101

Story time: Years ago my son and his friend went to the wild rose and were treated like second class citizens. Afterwards, I went there for a beer and to see what they were complaining about. I wanted to get sick. Real dirty place and prejudice as all get out. Women who hate men. I am a man and I don't hate women. I like them. There neat! The ladies should not hate people because they are different. Me? I have never met a lady that I did not like.

  • Pros: Great area and a great experience
  • Cons: Not so good in the parking area

wheres the service, just an over hyped tavern

by vamppyvixon

it is like awalking into a seedy tavern on skid road. it smells, the furniture is old, and as far as trendy or chic, you would think it was a mens leather hook up bar rather than the only lesbian bar in town. the place is packed every weekend, but the owners dont spend any money to make it nice for the girls. I have to admit if you get used to the bad service and the ugly tavern like feel, and really get to know the people who go there, because it is the only lesbian bar, you will actually have some fun, but as far as a review for the bar itself, the bathroom is so small a toddler would feel cramped in the stalls, you cant even find the tiny lil sink to wash your hands, and the locks have been broken on the stalls for years! If your a femme, put your makeup on at home, and dont plan on getting to the mirror all night without being beat up by the door! If your a regular dont expect to have them treat you like family, in fact the longer you go there and spend your money the less service you will get over time, youll be lucky to actually get a drink on a Saturday night............ but like I said, because it is the only lesbian bar,,,,,,,,,, and if your single ,,,,,,,,,, it is the place to be!

  • Pros: the only lesbian bar in town
  • Cons: all of the above

The Details on Wild Rose Tavern

Where to Sit:

There are two sides--the bar side and the pool table side. The pool table side is a bit darker, a bit more private, and more overtly girl-for-girl.

Know Before You Go:

It's not a meat market or a particularly sexual environment; the best way for a woman to meet a woman is to sit at the bar and strike up a very mellow conversation.
