In Short – The Capitol Hill's Babeland is less a boutique and more a sex-positive clubhouse. Cute handwritten signs describe the wide array of mostly women-oriented products and the atmosphere is very laid back. The shop distinguishes itself by offering sound sex education at "Babeland University" classes. Subjects such as introduction to sex toys, are available in English, American Sign Language and Spanish. There's also a full library of books on all things related to sexuality.

I love babeland! I have been a shopper there for years now and i am never disapointed. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgable. I love looking through the books, and being able to pick up the toys and turn them on. its so much fun!
Its a place you must visit!

The BEST toy store!

Alright Seattle... if you haven't been here yet GO! I can't say enough good things about these people! The staff is helpfull but discreet, they'll let you peruse to your delight. If you do have a question the staff is literally brimming with knowledge, they'll tell you everything they know about whatever it is you are looking at. If you are a bit more shy then no fear! There are pamphlets all over the place talking about their products. Their workshops are also great... I envy those who date Toys in Babeland Workers!

Try Babeland University!

I went to my first workshop at Toys in Babeland a few weeks ago - "Keep it Hot!" Though the temperature in the room was uncomfortably hot, the workshop itself was excellent and lived up to it's description. The teachers were fantastic, informed, funny, friendly, and a joy to watch. They have a variety of workshops - something for everyone - so I recommend attending one just as much as I recommend going to their fabulous shop.
- Pros: Fun, customer service, helpful
- Cons: bad parking

The store is queer-owned and devoted to putting women's pleasure first, but folks of all orientations are welcome--the majority of clients are straight couples.
When to Go:
For the bashful the store offers private shopping before or after regular business hours, just call ahead to schedule an appointment.
Save Money:
Pick up a pre-made kit: it's cheaper and someone else has done all the heavy lifting of selecting what products work best together for you. They work well for singles (Bunny Love Kit) or couples (Pink Kink Kit).
