The Course – H. Chandler Egan (most famous for his redesign of Pebble Beach) designed this course in 1928. The par-72 course measures 6,653 yards from the blue tees, 6,221 from the whites and 5,685 from the reds. It's full of hilly fairways and small greens. – – The Experience – On the front side, those who can drive it long and straight will have an advantage, particularly on the monstrous 564-yard, par-5 ninth hole. The back side features a number of par-4 holes, including the last four--a rolling trek that will test golfers' stamina as they head for the clubhouse.…

Tough Tough Tough

This is a beautiful course and toughest one I have every played. I regret walking the 18 holes here because of the many hills! Great exsercise but hurted my game on the final 4 holes. Very challenging and it didnt help that they just sanded the greens.

Not for Hackers

The first tee is a Par 5. Imagine that challenge; especially in light of the fact they don't have a driving range. There are two practice putting greens, and you are allowed to even chip. This course is well maintained, wide fairways, fast greens (and small on some holes), and hilly on the back 9. The pro shop needs a make-over in the worst way; and the staff needs to be friendlier. Also, this golf course has many car break-ins, so don't leave your valuables behind.

  • Pros: Challenging, Long course
  • Cons: Pro Shop; Customer Service; Bathrooms, Lounge

No Heart monitors please!

Everyone knows West seattle even challenges the best amateurs. Great walk for those who enjoy the fitness/and for those less hearty, get a cart. Second cut is deep in many places/keep it in the short grass and your score will will stroke your ego. Avoid in winter unless 3-4 days of non-rain.

Greens are well maintained... matters only if you can stay out of the trees! Great course, good service.

  • Pros: Upkeep, location
  • Cons: cost, volume of players
