Humble strip mall doughnut shop fries one mean apple fritter.. The Scene It looks like the owners got their tables and chairs from a Dunkin' Donuts--they're painted a fairly distinct brown and orange. The space is small--clearly most folks grab their donuts and head back home or to the office. The owner--and the guy who bags the doughnuts--is a huge baseball fan: make his day and chat about the Mariners.
The Food Whether the morning craving is for a frosted twist, a maple bar or a classic jelly-filled, they'll have your favorite doughnut and it will be fresh out of the frier. The raised doughnuts are particularly good--the kind that give meaning to the phrase "melts in your mouth". The apple fritter is a standout--it's fried dark, then glazed and it's extra crispy around the edges. Cake doughnuts are tender, spiced lightly with mace, and frequently decorated with sprinkles.
Seattle's Best Doughnuts.
I have lived near the shop for 8 years. I do not eat doughnuts often but when I do this is the best place in town. Not once has a doughnut not been fresh and delightful. When I take them into work everyone asks me where to get them, so they to can share in Seattle's best doughnut.
