I used Darcy at Fragie fit to alter my wedding gown,(or should I say re-alter). I first had it done at another salon and it did not fit right,2-weeks before the wedding I relized I needed to take it somewhere else. A friend gave me Darcy's info, and fortunatley she was able to fit me in. We addressed all my issues and she explained what needed to be done. When I came back to try it again it was perfect!!!. and to top it off her prices were great and she is fun to work with. She really put my mind at ease and releived alot of stress. I would highly recomend her to anyone.

Pros: lots of experience, fun to work with

I think my overall experience with Darcy would have been different if she had had more time to spend with me and was able to ask how I wanted my gown to fit BEFORE she began alterations. I felt rushed at all my fittings because her allotted appointment times were squished so close together that I watched the customers before me being fitted, and in turn was watched by the next customer after me (there's no waiting room in her one-room boutique). After the final fitting, I tried my dress on at home only to find that I couldn't raise my arms without my breasts becoming exposed. I brought the dress back and showed Darcy the problem, who said it couldn't be fixed and suggested I just not raise my arms up at my wedding. Extremely upset about my gown not fitting, I took it to another boutique who was able to make the dress stay up when I raised my arms. In order to do that, they simply raised the dress and took in the seam on the hips and waist- something pretty basic that should have been done in the beginning. Unfortunately, my dress ended up being a little bit too short because too much fabric had been removed from the length in the original alterations. Nevertheless, it was more important to me that I could move comfortably so it was worth it to make the changes. Someone with more knowledge about wedding gowns probably would not have had the problems I did if they were able to show Darcy exactly what they wanted. I was completely inexperienced, though, so I looked to Darcy as the expert. My beautiful dress that I'd spent so much time picking out and should have been excited about, became a huge source of anxiety for me the final days before the wedding, as I frantically searched for someone who could make it fit at the last minute.
