I sprained my knee Egypt tour getting out of a boat. An accident totally preventable. Boat we were put on had step up/down that was not safe without a step stool. Left to our own devices to get out of boat-no step stool provided. I missed over 4 days of tour. When I could maneuver outside of bus on crutches, I couldn’t keep up with group to get narration from our Egyptologist. Alki advertises 1st Class hotels, 1st Class Sleeper train. Train was disgusting. The compartment was filthy. Not enough Clorox wipes to clean off table we were supposed to eat on At least 2 days no stop for lunch. Alki tour manager passed out junk food as if junk food replaces lunch. Hotel near Mt. Sinai was appalling. No heat in dining room. Was 40 -50 degrees outside! Rooms not adequately heated. We requested seats together which we didn't get on any flight. Airlines wouldn’t change seats even when flight was not fully booked. Alki bought some cheap bulk ticket and is responsible for this lack of customer service. The info sent 2 weeks prior to trip had errors. Someone took last year’s copy &cut -paste. There was info that wasn’t applicable to this year’s trip. Very sloppy,unprofessional. Tour Manager lacked enthusiasm/energy - just going thru motions. 1. Going to Paris, had 8 hour lay over. Alki rep lead us to gate, didn't know that we couldn't get out of the terminal to visit Paris from where he led us. Sent us on wild goose chase trying to get out. Never got off his butt to help us figure it out. 2. Because he was working with a local Egyptologist he hadn't even bothered to study up on the sites so when I got left behind from the group with him on my crutched, got no info on sites from him. 3. I had high anxiety about navigating on crutches thru airports on way home. He actually told me not to make too big a deal about not being able to walk onto the plane or they wouldn't let me fly. Like I was some sort of child.

Management is extremely rude. I missed my bus and wanted to talk to them about how the bus driver saw me in the parking and didn't stop to let me on the bus, and the manager implied that I was lying. Then the owner didn't even acknowledge, or apologize for, the manager's actions and attitude.
