Mobile euthanasia with Dr. Knasiak. Dr. Knasiak provides in home euthanasia. He is afflilated with Rainier Vet Hospital as a surgeon I believe. He is compassionate, kind and I highly recommend him for what is a difficult decision. He helped our family cope.

Rainier Vet Hospital is the BEST!!!!!!. MissLilson – I specifically decided to write a review because your review really pissed me off!

I adopted my 2 ½ year old Black Lab “Annie” from Seattle Purebred Rescue in August 2010. I was referred to the Rainier Veterinary Hospital from David Wiley, who is a personal dog/obedience trainer with Barkbusters. David referred me there because he said that the vets are very good, rates are reasonable, and it is close to my home.

I took Annie for a wellness exam a few weeks ago, and we saw Dr. Heino. He was absolutely amazing! He spent over 1 hour with us and thoroughly went over every issue that we discussed. Annie received a vaccine, stool sample evaluation, and wellness check for only $78.

Today, I took Annie back to Dr. Heino for a follow up. He spent 45 minutes with us and was so kind. I am very sad that he has decided to retire at the end of 2010. I have found Dr. Heino’s staff very courteous, and even though Dr. Heino won’t be our vet after he retires, I will absolutely take Annie to another vet at the Rainier Veterinary Hospital!

Worst vet ever. This is the worst vet ever. We brought in my 10 year old golden retriever Daisy, for pain in her side and neck. After waiting to see the vet, he did not introduce himself and was very brief. The place had a distinct smell to it, and was very cramped. The vet did not answer any of our questions, and told us nothing except what we already knew. He did nothing to relieve the pain in her neck, and convinced us Daisy needed to have a blood test done, but he did not tell us how much it would cost. When he was done weighing her and drawing her blood, he gave us her leash and left. The receptionist gave us a large bill, $135 for the blood test. I will never bring my dog back here again, even if the check up is cheaper than other vets.

These people are great!. My elderly Devon Rex cat was very ill--17 years old and not feeling at all well.

These people had not seen her before. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours.

These people have the best interests of the animal at heart. Dr. Moriyasu was very competent, and didn't get an attitude that some vets have. She sent my cat home medication and allowed me to give the sub-cu fluids at home, providing me with the Ringer's solution and kit for the fluids.

I love this doctor and this clinic. My cat may or may not have a few years left on this earth. For whatever time she does have left, the people at Rainier Veterinary Clinic will be her doctors. They are absolutely wonderful.

Good vets, very bad phones.. I went to Rainier Veterinary and they provided great service for my Vizsla. I was recommended to them by a coworker with a Lab who received a lot of senior care (specifically through Dr. Heino), and she thought they were wonderful, inexpensive, didn't recommend unnecessary things, and helped her make informed decisions.

I agree. The place I ran into a problem was when I moved away and needed my dog's medical records sent to the new vet for continuity of care. However, Rainier vet isn't open on the later evenings or weekends when I call. Their voicemail does not take messages. When I go out of my way to call during business hours (when I should be studying/working/running errands), they are so busy that they don't pick up the phone. However, since, again, they have no voicemail or email, I have been unable to ask for them to send my dog's records to the new vet, despite 3 phone attempts and searching for an email/website via internet.

I appreciate their standard of care. I just wish I could get a hold of them so I wouldn't have to keep trying to call them.

My appointment at the vet clinc. My appointment time was over booked then after I waited and waited they suggested I come back some other time also a quick observation the place is way small they is no room to even walk by if someone is at the counter, it kinda smelled funny and the staff was not nice at all.. very cranky looks like they was some bad blood in that clinic ....scary..... I left... and guess what ill never go there again ...

Better than others. Well, after enduring the rude abuse and high prices of my neighborhood veterinarian, I have finally found a high quality hospital with affordable prices. I'm with everyone else in my fave reviews for Dr. Heino but even the person who is responsible for performing the dental cleanings for pets is top quality. I was given an estimate for one of my cats of $1,000 for a dental exam, potential extractions, prelim blood panel, etc. elsewhere. I paid a fraction of that for the same services (including the preliminary blood exam) with 2 extractions and including take-home medication at Rainier. The professionalism of the vet techs and all of the staff was absolutely exemplary.

This place has my business because I feel comfortable in the knowledge that Rainier looks at my pets as patients in need of care as opposed to high-priced potential sales.

Great vet, professional and courteous. After researching many reviews I took our pair of 5 month old kittens here for check ups and to get familiar with the staff (I like to find one place and stick to it).

We were supposed to see Dr. Kung but due to a scheduling mix up we ended up seeing Dr. Moriyasu. I hadn't heard great things about her from the reviews, but I have no idea what those people were talking about.

Dr. Moriyasu was very professional and answered any questions we had. She didn't make us feel like idiots when telling us that we should've brought them in 3 times since we'd adopted them for boosters on their vaccinations. She diagnosed the sniffle one of our cats had had since we brought him home as most likely a secondary symptom of Feline Herpes and prescribed some antibiotics which cleared him right up. She was firm yet gentle when speaking to and handling our kitties. I would definately trust her with our cats health in the future.

When leaving, I was surprised how little it cost (vaccinations, exam and antibiotics came out to less than $80 each) and the techs/clerical staff were very friendly and helpful.

I'm looking forward to taking them back for boosters in a few weeks. This time I asked to see Dr. Heino, not because I didn't like Dr. Moriyasu, but after reading the reviews I've just got to see what this guy is like.

Dr. Heino--compassionate, caring vet. I recently had to have my fifteen year old cat euthanized due to continuing renal failure. It was a very difficult time for me as I live alone and the cat and I were "best friends." Dr. Heino gave me options, explained what would happen after I chose what I wanted and reassured me with the fact that, under the circumstances, I was being very unselfish. He gave me as much time as I wanted. I had lived in Seattle twenty-three years ago and had brought in another cat for services. As soon as I saw the doctor I remembered him. What a testimony to his dedication that he was still there giving his excelent care to so many animals through the years.

Best Vet in Seattle...thanks to Dr. Heino. I am not sure what happened to the person who had the bad experience with Rainier Vet, but I'm sure it was a fluke. Rainier Vet has the best staff in Seattle and Dr. Heino is the most compassionate, thoughtful and thorough vet. While it is slightly inconvenient to not be able to make an appointment, the benefit of having a vet who takes time to carefully examine and most importantly, have an informed and unrushed conversation with the owner trumps the wait.

I have had three cats and when the first one was sick and drying, Dr. Heino treated her with compassion, gave her pain management in her last days, returned my phone calls when I was questioning "was it time," and took great care and sensitivity in putting her down. I have just adopted a new kitty this weekend and tomorrow morning we are heading off to Rainier Vet for a thorough check-up and make sure we are off to a healthy start.
