In Short
Remo Borracchini's is known for cakes, but the Borracchini name is also well-known for in local history, having provided baked goods for Seattle since 1922, when Maria and Mario Borracchini emigrated from Florence, Italy. The tradition lives on in a 20-foot bakery counter filled with cookies, biscotti, eclairs and doughnuts. Imported products like wine, cheese and olive oil are also stocked.

I love this place. When I was little my mom used to take us for cake. Everytime I see that cake box I get happy. Just a few years ago I started getting other things there. The panini sandwiches....mmmmmm....the roast beef and havarti cheese and soft bread...to die for!! stuffed olives? um. Love this place, a definite south seattle treasure!! worth the trip!!
Pros: food and the cake especcially the fillings!!
Cons: havent found any yet!

I was at a birthday party on Saturday and got all happy when I saw the Borracchini box. Maybe they were having an off day but the cake was not up to their normal standards. The lower layer was super thin & very uneven, the upper layer was too thick and uneven, the cream cheese filling tasted "off". I can't put my finger on it, not sour, but fake somehow. Like when you get frosting with too much color. I was very dissappointed. I won't give up on them yet though.
