Editorial Review for Seattle Deli – by Anna Roth
In Short
This tiny storefront is mobbed by in-the-know locals at lunch ordering takeout from a wide selection of large, budget-friendly Vietnamese sandwiches, or bahn mi. Choices include grilled chicken, barbeque pork and fried tofu, all served on a crispy baguette packed with cilantro, pickled veggies and hot peppers. Steam tables flaunt daily rotating hot dishes like stir fry; also offered are fresh spring rolls, fried egg rolls and baked goodies for dessert.

Out of the many options for Bahn Mí in Little Saigon, this one is particularly good. The sandwiches are made quickly on a fresh roll, a little mayonnaise, some onions, carrots and cilantro (I think) and the meat of your choice. The staff are friendly and helpful. They also offer bubble tea. They close around 7p, so it's not the best choice for later-evening dining.
Pros: easy parking, quick, friendly
Cons: close early

Seattle Deli has become one of our favorite places to purchase good food prepared quickly. Their Vietnamese sandwiches are excellent...however, the faint of tongue should pick off the peppers first! SD's egg rolls are also superb, and in general their prices are unbeatable.
Pros: Inexpensive, Fabulous sandwiches
