The Scene – While Salty's may not be keeping up with downtown Seattle's culinary sophistication, it excels at making diners feel comfortable. Service is down-to-earth and reliable, never snobbish. Regulars have long made this their special-occasion restaurant, while others bring visitors to show off the billion-dollar view. – – The Food – Stick with the basics, starting with creamy seafood chowder. Coconut prawns have long deserted most menus, but die-hard fans will find them here--an instant flashback to the 1980s. The kitchen's approach to fish leans toward fillets…

- Look Good:
- Long decks stretch out on top of the sun-dappled water--bring sunglasses.
We'll be back!

Great food, great service, great location. There is a boat ramp nearby so this location is perfect for a post boat ride beverage or two. Our first time there, we had just sat down out on the deck on a late summer day when a tray of Oyster Shooters was carried past us. Hmmm! That was it, we were hooked. Awesome coconut prawns, too btw. Go to Salty's at Redondo and you will be happy.
Best Around!!

Every time I come into Salty’s at Redondo I am blown away! On our last visit we were greeted not just by the bubbly girls at the front desk but by every smiling face that pasted by us. We were able to have our spectacular dinner out on the deck, which was amazing! I sun was shining and the food was delicious! We were given excellent service and never had to ask for a single thing. The coconut prawns are sooo good and the crab mac and cheese was so rich and creamy.
This is a great place to take friends or family for an impressive dinner! We will be back!!
Over Priced/Over cooked

This was a mediocre meal served at a high price.
We had the family style dinner:
Coconut prawns, not bad, but slightly over cooked
Steak, Very good, done perfectly
Salmon, a bit dry...definitely should not have been cooked a second longer.
Asparagus...giant, but shaved the woody parts off. Was good, not over cooked.
Mango Salsa over sticky rice. OK, this was a huge disaster! Mango Salsa should be sweet, taste of mango, with a bit of heat.
The mango was to green and had NO FLAVOR....they made up for it with way to much jalapeno and cilantro. If it weren't for the orange color of mango, you would never have a clue there was mango in it!
Their signature cake was good.
We each had 1 drink (4 of us) and the bill came to $200. Seriously, for 1/2 that amount I could have gotten a good meal elsewhere. Or even a mediocre meal, like this one, for 1/2 that amount.
Best Brunch Ever

Best brunch ever. Huge selection of food expertly prepared. Service is great.
- Pros: Excellent food, good service
- Cons: Can't think of any
Major disappointment

Our hotel recommended Saltys. We were looking for seafood and atmosphere. We ordered a bucket of schrimp and fish and chips.
The fish was not eatable. The halibut was thin and like card board. We are accustomed to fish frys that offer bear battered cod or halibut. I described the fish to the maitre d as "disgusting". There just was no any other word to describe it. We could not eat it.
The schrimp were tiny. At this type of restaurant, I was surprised they would serve such tiny schrimp.
As I described my experience to the maitre d, I felt that he was not being honest about the quality of the food he was serving. It was so bad, he had to know that is was bad. Point of fact, I have questions his integrity.
He said we may get 1 complaint a year. He should read his own reviews.
- Pros: location & service
- Cons: bad food
