neighborhood find. I have lived in Magnolia for a number of years and visited the Garden Center once in a while, usually in a last minute attempt to find a "living" gift. I thought of the Garden Center as a slightly higher priced nursery for people who didn't want to get in their cars to drive to any of a number of larger, more well-known places. Little did I know!

This year I needed everything (trees, shrubs, annuals, etc.) for a new landscaping project for my recently constructed home. While hunting all over the region for trees (including way out in the countryside) I decided to stop for a minute at the Garden Center. To my surprise I immediately found 3 substantial sized trees that I couldn't live without, and I found Martha, the Garden Center's sales staff and design consultant. Martha helped us to crystallize and focus our thoughts on what we were really looking for, and we bought 5 trees and multiple shrubs on the spot! We took advantage of the Garden Center's very low priced "initial consultation" fee with Martha, and we went from there. Martha assisted us tirelessly, allowing me to wander through the Garden Center many times and asking hundreds of questions. Frankly, I was astonished to have so much guidance and unending assistance from any garden center.

We bought a considerable number of items from the Garden Center (in addition to our initial purchase) because we found their prices to be very competitive and the quality of the plants quite high. The result of our association with the Garden Center was a cutting edge , tranquil landscape that we and our neighbors all love. Many people have stopped to ask where we bought our plants from and who helped us. We always tell them it was the "little neighborhood garden center" and in particular, our special find, Martha!

Like it except for rude employee. I have been to this store many times and I have found the majority of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. However, there is a woman who works in the garden store who is very unfriendly, rude, and demeaning. I am by no means an experienced gardener, nor have I ever pretended to be, and anytime I ask her to clarify something or have a questions, she responds rudely and is very disrespectful. She also tries to sell you expensive items in the store. I like to support the store given it's a local, family run store, but I will definitely hesitate to go back there again to have to encounter this woman's cocky, demeaning attitude. I believe she is knowledgable, but has extremely poor customer service skills.

A New Look. And now for something really different. Last spring we bought a pre-war bungalow near the village that had the usual foundation plantings with no eye appeal and a sad dated look. Fortunately, we reconnected with Martha Holley-Kimball, Landscape Designer one day while admiring the plant material at Magnolia Garden Center. We enlisted Martha’s expertise. She understood our dilemma, listened and masterfully executed what we believe to be an extremely unique design. Martha’s careful attention to a plan included drainage, top quality soil, artistic and organic elements. The design she came up with was a mounded oasis of native northwest plants provided by Magnolia Garden Center and a unique structured walled garden with inviting sandstone walkway. Martha took the project to a new level. Our garden is truly unique and we hope it will inspire other homeowners to consider renovating their landscape adding true dollar value with much appeal.

People double take when they walk or drive by. Just yesterday we spotted one individual shyly snapping a picture of our landscape and home. We couldn’t be more pleased with Martha’s service, expertise and true dedication to the job. We have found a new friend.

Great Selection; Helpful Staff, Good Deals on Shade Plants. I went in trying to get some greens going for the summer and having been told that it was "too late" to plant at other spots, was able to find some plants that have worked out really well in my yard. Chuck was very knowldegable and helped me get my yard looking beautiful
