What the Gim Wah has going for it is it bar and it is not a hang out for drunks. The bar is something out of Seattle's past, it has a great feel to it, something you don't find around Seattle anymore. The food is only so-so. I can't think of any great dish on the menu, I don't think anything is homemade there. It just basic Chinese food. The service is good.

I must be goign through a chinese take out phase. I've dined take out at Gim-Wah 4 out of 7 nights this week! I love their spicy dishes. The portions are generous, one entree will easily serve two people. I really like the General Tsao's Chicken and the Orange Beef. You can order them cooked with vegetables for an extra $1. Be sure to request this because most dishes, unless specified, don't have veggies in them. They always remember your name here. You can skip the alcoholic bar, though. The only bad thing about this place is that it is the only watering hole for drunks in Magnolia.
