Great food, but...

Our friends highly recommended Tampicos and after a very difficult month, we thought that this was a perfect way to get away from it all. The food was absolutely wonderful. Staff all seemed so friendly. Imagine my shock when my bank posted a $236.00 debit charge to RAL Audio Services. The one and only time I used my debit card that day was at Tampicos. I guess that answers why it took so long to process our debit card and bring it back to us. I did attempt to call the Tampico managers and even left a message asking them to call me. The silence is deafening. My bank is sending me the papers to sign to pursue a fraud investigation and I intend to sign and fax the authorization immediately.

No matter how great the food is, I just won't ever go back. If you go, enjoy the food, but pay with cash.

Best mexican food around

I'll start by saying the hotel next door is not inviting and parking is fine, across the street. other then that the food is great. Service has been great everytime exept for one time,one waiter was bad, (may have been having a tuff day). you will never have an empty water glass, or chip bowl. 2 salsas are great, and the food?, the food is the best around and we have been around. lets not forget the kids cups and they are always accomidating for the little ones. Have a large group... we did once and they fit our party of 13 no prob on a friday night. I did call ahead 5 min and we sat down right away. dont forget those margaritas, they are buzzingly great.

Tampico is tasty... I think it is their wonderful cheese blend!

We went to Tampico for the first time for lunch the other day, and while looking at the menu we were thinking that it is a bit on the pricey side... not super expensive, but a bit more than the usual mediocre Mexican restaurant for certain meails. We got items that were on the cheaper side, and the kids got a quesadilla and a grilled cheese sandwich, and everything we got was so tasty! I really believe it is due to both their cheese blend (which seems super fresh) and their very good sauces. They give you two salsas with the chips at the beginning, and I especially liked the red salsa, which was spicier than the usual restaurant salsa. Overall we really enjoyed our meals, well worth the money... I would rather pay a buck or two (or three) more for an excellent meal than bother with a mediocre one.

• Pros: really tasty food, YUM YUM!
• Cons: parking, a bit pricey (but basically worth it), not much variety on the kids menu
