They allowed for customers to be verbally abused in the bar, There was a drunk guy in there that hassled numerous customers and they did nothing about it. We left as soon as we could. They should have kicked the drunk out. and confirmed with the customers that the situation was resloved.
A family favorite for years.
This place has been around for a long time , serving up both good food and great value . The is old fashioned chinese food, not asian-fusion or anything fancy like that. A few years ago, the food was simply sublime , and could stand right up to comparison with much more expensive restaurants in neighboring Seattle and even Vancouver B.C. . In recent years, the food has lost a step or two , but still hands down the best "traditional" chinese in the Everett area, in my opinion. Favorites include Kung Pao Chicken or Beef, Sesame Beef , and Walnut Shrimp (goes by a different name on the menu, which escapes me at the moment) . I recently tried the Pork Egg Foo Young, and it was quite good .Excellent Hot and Sour soup , and good fried rice , although the rice they served ten years ago was fantastic.
This place is CHEAP. Lunch specials are all under $6.00 , complete with main entree, fried rice, spring roll, soup, tea, and fortune cookie. It's a plateful , and I usually have enough leftovers to make another meal. One thing I really like is that the lunch menu is available for dinner as well, add $1 ..... now that's a deal !
Lunch might be a good way to check this place out, before bringing the whole family in for dinner.
The lounge packs in a good crowd on Friday and Saturday night, with karaoke being the big draw. Good place to bring an adult group for an informal gathering like a birthday party . keep this in mind if you are looking for a quiet, candle lit dinner after 9 on those nights.....it can get a little raucous, and the lounge is separated from the main dining area by only a curtain.
Haute cuisine it isn't , but Hunan Palace serves up traditional chinese-american that is a cut above the other local options, and does it inexpensively. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area .
Average food, average prices, good service.. Service and prices were good, but the food itself was average. We ordered a family dinner with three main dishes. The soup and appetizers tasted good, but the main dishes were barely average. The sweet & sour pork was mediocre, and we also had some chicken dish that we left on the plate. The best tasting dishes were beef with vegetables and fried rice. We may go there again and try something else, but not anytime soon.
Basic neighborhood chinese restaurant. The Hunan Palace has been around for years and years. It's okay if you live around there otherwise it's better to head over by the mall.
