Bad food at Gianni's. My husband and I went to Gianni's for the first time for dinner. The parking lot was almost empty which should have been a warning. I ordered Spaghetti Pasqua which is described on the menu as A traditional Italian Easter Holiday dish, very light with Fresh baby Snow Peas, Bacon and Julienne Onions sautéed in Olive Oil, Garlic, White Wine and Oregano tossed with Spaghetti. It wasn't light rather heavy with olive oil, the bacon was half fried fat, the fresh snow peas were frozen english peas (my kids refer to then as cannon balls), and the seasonings were so overpowered by the load of black pepper that I couldn't tell if it had any oregano or basil in it. The soup tasted like it was flavored by Knorr mix, not homemade at all. The bread was cold and stale. The wait staff was no help. Just keep on driving when you want Italian food.

Lunch for 2. Ordered lunch for two to go on phone, using their web site lunch menu, One lunch $7.00, second lunch $9.95, total was $27.98, shocked paid and said well must be good. Sat down to eat lunch and pasta bowls half full, no forks or napkins, both salads came with the same dressing on both, which when ordered one was different, called Gianni's asked about pricing and they said we should have looked at the take out section not the Lunch. Also one dish was their Penne' dish, and was very oily! You do the math, $11.25 extra for take out. The lunch special had no notes of carry of being more and thinking 11:00-4:00 lunch special we can't go wrong......And they were very cold on the phone and did not think the surprise and the misunderstanding of their menu was their problem. VERY UNHAPPY WILL NOT RETURN EVER!

Favorite Italian restuarant around.. This is the best italian restuarant I am aware of in the area. Its unfortunately located in Everett, but worth the drive. The menu choices are extensive, dinner comes with a delicious olive tapenade/oil and bread which I always end up stuffing myself with. Prices can be a little high, but food is delicious and very flavorful. Calzones are huge. Staff is friendly and accomodating. It is odd that salad traditionally comes after the meal, but they are happy to bring it to you before if you request it that way and it is nice that they stick with tradition. Meals are either ala carte or not, which can make for a more expensive evening out, I usually skip the salad as it doesn't appear to be anything special. I usaully opt for the spaghetti alla putanesca, but maybe its just because that means the prostitute way that I find it so appealing.

Very Good Italian Food!. Giannis' is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in this area. I'm fussy about Italian food, because I can make better Italian food at home than most of the places I've been to. If I'm going to go out for a meal, I don't want to pay for a food that's not as good as what I can make at home. In my opinion, most Italian restaurants serve food that tastes like bottled sauce and several different shaped pasta, and baked pasta with too much melted cheese. Giannis' fare is simple, but excellant. Lots of Olive oil, garlic and fresh herbs. My favorite pasta dish is the Penne Ala Matriciana (the Roman way) with olive oil, garlic, onion, tomato, bacon, and lots of red pepper. The Spagetti Puttanesca with capers and Kalamata olives, and the Spagetti Caprese with Fresh Mozzarella and Basil are my other favorites. The Minestroni soup is wonderful. The salad, which is served after the meal European style could be improved on. It's fine, but basically just iceburg lettuce. I could list a few other very good Italian Restaurants not terribly far away, but I wouldn't say they are better, just different. The prices are on par with other area restaurants in this category and the menu is huge. If you like real Italian food, you won't be disappointed.

Are you kidding me???. I have been going to Gianni's on and off (most often "off" as of lately) for about ten years. I began going there since it was located so closely to my office. The food is EXTREMELY over priced, and although the menu boasts fresh homemade desserts, they come from a box or carton. You can see servers dish store bought desserts while you are waiting to be seated. I believe the restaurant is kept dark so you can't see the dirt and grime. The carpets are disgustingly stained, and YES there are flies! The bathrooms are small and repulsive! Just as I read in a few other reviews, it is common to see the owner yelling and at his staff. This must be why there always seems to be a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. There have been some very nice wait staff; however, they are never the ones to stay employed. I would not recommend this restaurant and would be weary of positive reviews (they look to be made from the owner/proprietor)!!!!
