I am not sure if the food is good or not, but I know I will never go to this establishment for the following reason; the staff sucks in plain terms. When I arrived at 225pm I was informed that the grill would be closed down and that they would be closing at 230pm. The impression that my daughter and I were given was tough luck now get out of here, the person who met us at the front counter "Melissa" through her tone and attitude made it clear that my business was not wanted. I wonder if the owners are aware of how much business they will lose through staff like that. When I worked in the food service industry if the customer walked in the door 2 min before closing they were seated and served. I guess if this is how they perceive customer service is to be then the food is probably as crappy as the staff’s attitude is. I know I will go elsewhere so much for trying a new place and I also know that I will not eat at any of the other Chang's there are in WA or OR.
absolute worst. my husband and i are great fans of mongolian grills however chang's is so bad it might have ruined it for us. the grills we have frequented in the past served raw, not frozen meats, that looked appetizing, a wide variety of fresh vegetables and numerous sauces. chang's uses frozen meats that are sliced and when cooked all had the same consistency, which was weird. the vegetables were ok, not much variety. the sauces sucked- you really didn't know what to use but that didn't matter because once it got cooked it all tasted the same. they put so much water on the grill to cook the frozen meats that all your sauce is washed away. they rotate the food around the outside of the grill so you always end up with food items from other people's entrees. the grill is so dirty that EVERYTHING tasted just like the grill smelled. we tried pork, chicken, beef, and lamb- all loaded with a ton of sauces and spices- and they all tasted exactly the same. chang's is the old country buffet of mongolian grill- nothing tastes great but you can get alot of crappy food cheap. also, my husband and ii were on the toilet immediately afterwards and it wasn't pleasant. heed my warning- don't go there!
Pretty good Mongolian.
We went here for dinner with some friends. We got seated promptly and the waiter was extra friendly and explained to us how it worked, since we went here for the first time. It's basically an all you can eat Mongolian Grill! They bring out one bowl of rice to share, and some spring roll wrappers. At the bar, there are a lot of items that you can choose from. They have chicken, lamb, pork, beef, and seafood. And your standard vegetable fare. I recommend to newbies to get two bowls, and fill one with meat, and the other with veggies, noodles and sauce etc.(You'll see why) The sauce bar was cool too, you have a choice of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sherry, lemon juice , chili oil, etc. Then you wait in line and have the guys cook it up for you. That is a pretty great site in itself!
I was amazed to see people pile their items in the bowls, and not have it fall out everywhere. The waitstaff are quick to refill your drinks, rice and wrappers too! You also get a dish of soft serve Vanilla ice cream at the end of the meal. Great for people who like Mongolian, and anyone who likes to eat this way. I would come back!
