Worst Gun Range Ever
by Navy Mike at Citysearch
Well this is another fine example of horrible customer service from Sam’s Gun Range located in Everett, Washington. If you are looking to purchase a firearm, ammunition, or go to rifle and or pistol range, go some where else, Sam’s Gun Range is rude, arrogant, and says one thing over the phone and another when you show up. If you want outstanding service and facilities, I fully recommend going to West Coast Armory located in Bellevue, Washington, they have it all. I have seen nothing but marginal to very poor reviews about Sam’s and the manager that works there, Howard. I spoke to one of the employees over the phone, the person’s name I did not catch unfortunately; because this individual was professional and polite, and Howard has a lot to learn from him. When I arrived at the Sam’s Gun Range I headed to the back where the Range is located, (and I now understand why Howard the manager works at the range instead of with more contact with the general public, in sale, up front) and I spoke to Howard and he asked what I wanted. I told Howard that I was looking to shoot my new AR M6A2 in 6.8 SPC that I just purchased from a authorized L.W.R.C.I. dealer obviously not Sam’s Gun Range, and I waned to get on the rifle range and zero in the Eotech / laser combo I mounted on top of the AR and Howard was quick to ask me in a quick and condescending manner if I was a member and I said, no I wasn’t aware that I had to be a member to use the rifle range, then Howard started to spout off about how there is a process and not just anyone can use the rife range, instead of trying to sell me a membership. Instead of being to be talked down to in this manner, I did the responsible thing and left before I got too agitated with his lack of professionalism.
Shortly after returning home I felt it necessary to call and voice my concerns to the owner and or manager unfortunately I did not realize that someone of Howard’s demeanor could be allowed to be in a management position; then after speaking to another person no the phone, I have a feeling the same person I spoke to over the phone the initial time, again very helpful and professional, (Howard should take some guidance from this individual) I spoke with Howard and he identified himself as the person I dealt with, which surprised me that he would, but this again just speaks to the level of arrogance on his part, because listening to what was going to be a paying customer and trying correct his substandard and unprofessional demeanor, he wanted to argue about over the phone which should of come to no surprise to me, when all I really wanted to do is give the owner / management the opportunity to correct Howard’s behavior before it cost Sam’s Gun Range any more business.
Lately I have made over 3700.00 dollars of firearms purchase, thankfully none from Sam’s Gun Range and from Howard’s behavior I never will. The beauty of free enterprise is that people will go to places like this only once and word of mouth has a great way of putting people like Howard out of business.
