Editorial Review for Saratoga Inn – by Gayot.com
The Scene
This is a member of a small chain of West Coast inns that cultivate the ambiance of a bed and breakfast. A full breakfast is served each morning. Tea, wine and hors d'oeuvres are offered in the afternoons. Evenings are capped with the personalized touch of turndown service. The chain is popular with tourists who like the idea of B&Bs but who also want to know what to expect.
The Details
This two-story Cape Cod-style building is set on a bluff and looks out at the water and mountains. All of its 16 bright and spacious rooms have contemporary furniture and include a range of amenities. Among the basics you will find data ports, gas fireplaces, sitting areas and large, private bathrooms. Water views are an integral part of the decor. At all costs, grab the CARRIAGE HOUSE. Great ambiance, and a very nice tub. Bring some good CDs, good wine, and stuff to nibble on. The lobby offers complimentary wine and cheeses, but we liked the '97 Lionetti Cabs and Merlots better in the tub, in front of the fire, and on the fluffy bed. Langley is a quaint but very welcoming town to rummage through. Hope you get lucky and spot a whale or two in the water. Great view of the Cascades on a clear morning. Breakfasts are top-notch! We had a mushroom quiche, and various breads and beverages. ...ahhhhhh!
Pros: Romantic!, Roomy!, Relaxing!
Cons: No cons to write!
