They did the same thing to me!! I have seen other vision centers and actually work for an insurance company. When vision centers or doctors try and charge you more than your copay report to your insurance company they will be put on a list and if they have too many complaints they will be taken off the group network. Always call the insurance company and ask what you will be paying. Ask up front what the cost are and if its more than your copay leave and report even if they try and send you a bill afterwards call the insurance company thats what they are there for! We deal with this type of acts all the time and most people just pay!! when they have no reason to a copay is just that a copay

poor customer service-overcharged. Had the worst experience, I took my 16 daughter in for an exam and was fitted for glasses. We have double insurance but were told they could only bill one insurance and we needed to pay $90, so we did. After getting home and checking insurance coverage I made two phone calls and trip down to the office regarding this but was told this is correct, I then submitted the $90 to my husband’s insurance but was later denied because they paid the clinic. I called them back and was told, “Yes you do have a $90 credit”, seriously?? To make matters worse at first my daughter was told she only needed to wear her glasses in school, but she’s found that she see’s better wearing them as she’s driving and playing sports. I called the clinic back asking about contacts…the doctor would never call me back but the girls at the front desk told me the doctor said her prescription wasn’t strong enough for contacts…I asked to speak to the doctor but was told she was busy, but reiterated the fact that she plays select softball year around and is a pitcher and catcher that she sees better with glasses and that she cannot wear glasses while she’s plays. Again was called back by the front desk staff to say the doctor said she can just wear them for sports…again, Seriously?? We went to another doctor and were told she could be fitted for contacts, will never go back again !
