MOTEL FROM HELL. First off the only
"good" review was written by the owners,as you can tell by the grammar, plus this is the owners personal email name. I really do not know where to start. We had a small house fire, and had to find a motel for a week, while a cleaning crew came in to clean up the mess. I can assure you the room may have looked like the Ad.Twenty years ago, but not now. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was a large hole in the middle of the carpet. Next the Internet was not free, but I had brought my own wifi with me. The awsome "Frige" was full of water, and the carpet was wet where it was leaking. We set the Two large dripping towels out side the room. These towels were inside "Frige". We ask if we could have the huge soaking three foot spot dried, NO ACTION TAKEN. The owner was banging on our door accusing us of dirting up his clean towels. This guy is a real Jewel.
The wonderful FREE breakfast was One small, stale roll, and a small paper cup of coffee. Our room had a doggie odor.( Bring Fabreez with you.) The vending machine was a laugh, Only had four Hershey Bars. it also had a Coke machine. The ice machine must not have been cleaned for years,as the ice melted and was slippery.(The sign of unclean ice.) Did I mention dogs barking? The room had one three foot closet, but did have plenty of hangers, (Ten) The maid was the only bright spot of this motel. she worked hard for minium wage if that. She was really embarrassed when she had to tell us she was only allowed to change sheets, and pillow cases on Thursday's and Sunday's no matter what. Cable TV had cheap basic selection. SAVE YOUR SELF STRESS, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. Just a few other wonderful things. They just let us know when we check out tomorrow they would be in to check out our room. OMG Do they think we are going to steal some towels that feel like they were washed in concrete ?
Maybe we took toilet paper that is so thin you can read through it.Worse toilet paper I have ever seen. I can only guess if this Chinese " contractor" will answer my observations. I can only guess he will call this 71 couple a malcontent. I do wish Best Western had had a vacancy . Again don't say you were not warned, or you will be writing A review about the same, after you also go out and buy several mattress pads for these rock hard beds.
If you have " being a contractor for years" you need to learn to write better English. I am glad the room was"being big for storage our all stuffs". No thanks YoonJohn.
Clean room, comfort bed with good price.
I've being a contracter for years Washington and Oregon area.
Usually I work with my 2-3 crews. So We got'ta stay 3-4 days per week in motel.
Fairground Inn in Monroe,WA is a pretty good place for like us. We 've stayed this motel last 5 weeks for small project in Duval.
This motel is medium size motel and very well managed look like.
room is big enough for storage our all stuffs and microwave and refrigerator are really helpfull.
Their Wi-Fi internnet is perfect .
Never going on young folks overnight party like small other motel.
Only onething you gotta know train whistles nearby.
I do recommend this motel for small contracters company for thier crew members that could save money .
Terrible customer service. I just called the Fairgrounds Inn to book a room for a family member. Its a big emergency and my family member needed a place to stay for 1 month. I live approximately 150 miles away from the hotel, but thought it would be convienent for my family member to stay at because its handicap accessible and pet friendly (My family member is in a wheelchair and the hotel has many ground floor rooms). I dont have an option to drive to the hotel and book it in person so I was forced to call them. The individual who answered my call was rushed, rude, and unwilling to help me. I asked him how much their monthly rates were and if I could book a room via telephone with my debit card.. His response to me was, "Call back tomorrow and speak with my Boss, I cant help you with those questions", I advised him that it was urgent and I would like to book a room for one night only and I will call back later to speak with his boss about the monthly rates and his response again to me was, "Call again tomorrow, thank you". Terrible service. I decided to call another hotel in the area and they were more than happy to help me. The Fairgrounds in just lost my business for sure.
Out to make a buck..
We stayed at this motel from July to October 2007. My husband was helping to build the new Lowe's. We mainly stayed there because of the convenience to the job site and because they are pet friendly so we were able to have our dogs with us.
Our room was big with 2 beds and a kitchen unit. The maids were very friendly.
They gave us a monthly rate which was half price, however we only were given the monthly rate for the first month. They then told us that because the Evergreen fair was going on that we would have to pay weekly ($550 per week) but assured us we could have the monthly rate back after the fair. After the fair they told us no more monthly rates. We continued to pay the weekly rate.
After we started paying the weekly rate they charged us tax and continued to charge us tax for 2 more months. According to the Washington State law we should not have been charged any tax after the first 30 days and since we paid a monthy rate the first 30 days we should not have been charged tax at all. We were never refunded the tax that we paid.
I took care of the cleaning since we have 2 dogs and it was just easier for me to do it then to have to take the dogs somewhere while the maids did it. When I went to exchange sheets and towels I had to count them out as if we were going to steal the darn things.
I know of at least 3 people that stayed during the time we were there that were not given their room deposits back due to supposedly missing or stained towels. This seemed utterly ridiculous to me.
The people at the front desk were snippy and seemed as if it was an inconvenience to be bothered if we went to ask them anything.
I felt that the owner was just out to make a buck and cheat people out of money any way he could.
They walked through our room before we were given our deposit back. I don't know if they have had less than trustworthy people stay there but I was disappointed with the treatment we got for the amount of money we paid out.
