One-woman day spa offers few frills, but seriously good service and a slumber-party atmosphere.. The Scene The titular aesthetician, nail technician and reflexologist graciously presides over this tiny, one-room spa, located adjacent to her home in a residential area. The spa has a private entrance, but the bathroom is through the kitchen. Paneled walls, angel figurines and white blinds make the space look more like a spare bedroom than a spa. But with a manicure table, facial equipment and a reclining chair, it has everything it needs, and Kathleen is so friendly it's easy to forget you're not visiting a friend.
The Services A holistic approach is emphasized, so it's possible that, while having the pressure points on your feet expertly massaged, the conversation could steer toward colons, kidneys or nutrition. Facials begin and end with the skin being tested for moisture, with the results calculated and exclaimed over. While the numbers are interesting, the dewy, post-facial complexion is amazing.
The Details Massage (reflexology), facials, manicures/pedicures, body treatments.
