Great place for a celebration

by Kazzau at Citysearch

Made arrangements by phone (live in North Central Wa)

and everything went as smooth as silk. The service was outstanding and the whole family helped me get ready for a surprise 50th Birthday Party. I was even allowed to bring my own BD cake. Thanks for EVERYTHING !!!

Delicious Food!

by ricohguy at Citysearch

Mardini's is an eclectic place with a somewhat Mediterranean flair. That description allows a lot of flexibility with their menu, but I would not get hung up on the terminology. There are mostly Americanized choices here, but all of the food has been excellent and the staff has been personable and friendly. Excellent place for lunch when shopping for antiques!

  • Pros: food, friendliness
  • Cons: a little wear in the decor

The best scallops I've ever tasted

by callmesweetheart at Citysearch

Overall, I had a splendid time here. My date and I were seated promptly, and our waiter was attentive. When we ordered the catch of the day and asked him to keep it a surprise, he was more than happy to do so. As far as service goes, my only complaint would be our occasionally empty water glasses -- they should never be empty. Our food was wonderful. The fried mozzarella wasabsolutely wonderful: fresh mozzarella cheese breaded with panko and fried to absolute perfection. Our catch of the day turned out to be scallops, and they were the best scallops I've ever tasted. Beautiful carmelization on the outside, perfectly done, and nowhere near too mushy or too chewy. Truly superb. Eating as a pair and sharing two entrees (if we had known the serving size was so large, one would have been more than enough for both of us), we also ordered their fettuccini carbonera, which was also delicious. The cream sauce was a beautiful consistency, exactly where it needed to be for the dish. I went out a few nights later and had fettuccini alfredo with shellfish, and the entire time I found myself longing for the scallops and fettuccini I had at Mardini's. Absolutely wonderful food. One thing about my dining experience that confused me, though, was the occasional cajun influence on the menu. This is a meditteranian restaurant, why are cajun shrimp and blackened steak on the menu? Water glasses that occassionally reach empty and seemingly out of place menu items aren't much to worry about, though, so I'll definitely be back.

  • Pros: incredible scallops
  • Cons: out of place menu items, service that tapers in quality after it looks like you're done.

Worst experience ever!

by doribobz01 at Citysearch

I just visited Mardini's in Snohomish, WA expecting an enjoyable experience. I was wrong, I received the worst service I have ever had! My party of 3, waited over an hour for refills on soda alone. Once our dinning experience was coming to an end we were at the door and someone from my party was confronting the manager and 2 other members of staff explaining very calmly that we were disappointed with the service. The manager then stated, "no how many times did we bring you stuff", then proceeded to state for us to "get out of the restaraunt" We were basically ran out of the restaraunt by the manager and one other staff member as they proceeded to talk badly about us walking away laughing! After spending almost $100.00 on dinner I will never recommend this restaraunt nor will I ever return. The only people that get service are the elderly people and the people that give off a sexual attraction towards that pig!

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: they do not know how to cook, and the owner has the worst customer service ever, also the staff needs a lesson on how to treat people!
