Editorial Review for El Corazon – by Hannah Levin
In Short
With ownership now in the hands of Infinite Productions, the existing rock-, metal- and punk-heavy calendar will continue the tradition of this Eastlake space as home to all things loud and rowdy. The titular tin heart hangs over a cobalt-blue bar where no-nonsense staff serve up cold PBRs and stiff whiskies to thirsty patrons.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoOne of the venue's most notable attributes is its relatively balanced blend of all-ages and 21-and-over shows, an endeavor that few other local clubs have been able to accomplish.

I had been planning a trip up to Seattle from Portland Oregon to see Carcass. I had bought my ticket in advance and my greyhound ticket, totaling up to about 105.00 dollars. For this amount of money to be spent to see one band, I would expect THEE night of my life. I arrived in town about 5 hours before the show so I decided to buy some beer. Little did I know the Staff at the El Corazon are a bunch of straight edge egotistical Nazi's. When I showed them my ticket, which by the way cost me 50 dollars, I was denied and told, "can't let someone who reeks of booze in.". I explained to them I just took a four hour bus ride up here and I have no where to stay and I have nothing else to do. They didn't care at all and started laughing. All I wanted to do is see Carcass. Is that so much to ask??? In conclusion, All I have to say is, The staff at the El Corazon are THEE biggest @#$%-Heads on the planet. Anyone who is reading this, here is a word of advice... Don't support this place because giving the venue money means the Staff are getting paid, and quite frankly they all need to be fired. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: none
Cons: rude staff

Well some may freak out on over-zealous security remember that there are two sides to every story.... you aren't 'ejected' from anything without some damn good reason for it regardless of what event or location. Anyways.... In the past there hasn’t been an issue with bringing a camera to a venue for personal photographs and I wasn’t sure what to expect at this show. Upon arrival two members of the security who were checking identification noticed my camera bag and enquired to whether or not I had a ‘photo pass’. I did not, and also did not travel to the venue in my car, opting for a cab instead so there was no place to store the camera. Being patient with me one of them offered to store the camera in his locker and I accepted. He also mentioned that when MLWTTKK merchandise showed up to enquire with them on whether or not I could use the camera. In the end I was allowed to and it made it that much more of an enjoyable evening. I attend many shows in the Seattle area and by far this has been the best experience I have had with security and door screening. Again, weall have good nights and bad ones but this was exceptional. These two security guys were patient, understanding, and courteous to me and those who accompanied me. I wanted to make sure that they were recognized for their efforts and professionalism. They deserve recognition.
Pros: Great Venue
Cons: Obscure bar service at all ages shows
