47.646865 -122.333917Go fly a kite on kite hill, picnic or just laze about with a stellar view of Lake Union and the downtown skyline. Generally a pretty chill place the park becomes overrun as a prime viewing spot for the fourth of July fireworks.

Top of my list for a sunny afternoon destination or showing off Seattle sites to a visitor. Great view of the city, cool old factory feel and an awesome sundial sculpture on top of the hill.
Good park. Gas Works is a good park. At first, I really thought the whole pipes thing was a little strange..I guess I still think that, but it doesnt bother me as much. The sundial is cool. Besides the pipes, it's still a great park to go walking. Also, it's a good place to watch fireworks if you can stand the crowds
This local favorite may be recycled, but its opportunities for outdoor enjoyment are always fresh..
In Short
Kids gravitate to the graffiti-splashed play barn of pipes, cogs and engines--rusty leftovers from the gas plant's 1906 beginnings. Kayakers glide to the rocky shoreline for picnics, while land lubbers spread out blankets for picnics or watch seaplanes taking off from or touching down on Lake Union. Cyclists, runners and walkers meet here to start workouts on the Burke-Gilman Trail. The large, windy hill in the middle is a kite-lover's paradise.
nice view of seattle. I love coming here at night and looking at the city. It's a good date place, you can come and talk and walk around. Even "big kids" love playing on the colorful pipes. Such a pretty place.
