Really bad public face to put on Seattle

Went into the Bar while walking the waterfront. Ordered 3 coffees, one with Kahlua. Price was $10.20 +/=. Gave bartender $20. Change came back exactly $2.00 short. Asked bar-back to speak to bar tender a moment. Her response: "Why do you want to talk to her?" Obviously, either it is a standard procedure to short change tourists and they expect a few of them to catch the fact, or the bar-back and bar tender were "significant others" and the bar-back was instantly protective of the bar tender when another woman asked to speak to her. In either case, the attitude was unacceptable and reflects very poorly on service in the Seattle area. I am reminded of the the scene from "Lonesome Dove" where Gus busts the bartender's head and says "One thing I can't tolerate is a surly bartender." Ladies, you wouldn't make it long in my state.

The worst place to impress out of town visitors

our visitors left with an impression of Seattle and our choice to show them the best was embarrassing to say the least. Not only was the food tasteless and overcooked but the service was deplorable. The servers attitude was the worse than the food if that's possible. It was uncomfortable and even humiliating to sit there with guests and take it. We had to ask, no beg for refills on Iced Tea, water, ketchup, lemon, the vegetable accompaniment that didn't make to the plate, a soup spoon. This guy just didn't care and it showed. I blame management for letting this go on and on it seems like a pattern with this place. We will have to change our choice of favorite to show off Seattle to family from out of town. Too bad because some had fond memories that they shared and this was a much requested place thanks for crushing that one!

Dissatisfied... to say the least

What an awful experience!! Extremely unacommodating, over-priced, terrible customer service, cramped, and tasteless food. I will never go to the Crab pot downtown Seattle again. What a let down.

Do not let their cheap, dead, dry seafood spoil your day

When you see the seafood restaurant near the waterfront, you would imagine yourself sitting by the water and eating fresh caught seafood. I was wrong after I tried the seafood at the crab pot Seattle waterfront. When you see the restaurant is crowed, you think the restaurant must serve good food. Well, I was wrong again. It turned out to be a tourist trap.

My husband and I bought two orders of the Westport seafood feast $50 minimum order plus tax and standard tips. The service was average. However, seafood was dry, overcooked and not fresh. The food was not that hot when it brought to my table. I suspect that the food was being cooked before, and reheated before it was brought to my table. The minimum order is two for Westport seafood feast, however, we only got one quarter of Dungeness crab part, one quarter of king crab part. The food was so bad that we could not finish half of the order. Since we paid so much for the food, we decided to not waste the food and take the food home. The box of food has been sitting my refrigerator for one week already and still no one wanted to eat it. We finally decided to throw it away.

My relative was in buffet business before and they only paid $1.00 wholesale price for one pond of frozen Dungeness crab to serve in a $12 buffet. Since I enjoyed lot of live seafood from Chinese restaurant and grocery store for cheap price, I am very positive that Crab pot is severing cheap dead frozen seafood for outrageous price. There is a day and night difference between dead frozen seafood and fresh live seafood.

I wish I checked the recent review of this restaurant before I made decision on where to celebrate a birthday. I did not have a chance to complaint because the waiter did not dare to ask about the food and I did not want to spoil my day by complaining about it. I am puzzled why other people in the resturant did not complaint about the food.

I believe it is a rip off when you compare the price with the food you get from other restaurant. For example, in Ming Chinese restaurant in Bellevue, I can pick a big live Dungeness crab from the tank for $15 each and they will cook almost any way you want and it always taste juicy and sweat since it is live crab. The live Dungeness crab is now selling $3.99 at 99 Chinese grocery store near the Valley Medical Center and you can ask it cleaned for you. The store also sells live shrimps and live lobsters around $10 a pound. The seafood in Las Vegas resturant is much more cheaper. I had a $16 Chinese buffet in Las Vegas and they served endless supply of delicious lobster, crab and shrimp. I was also a happy person after I had a big giant flavorful lobster($60) at emeril’s restaurant at mgm grand in Las Vegas.

Crab Pot - Bellevue

My husband, my nephew and I went to this restaurant for seafood, which we all love.

I ordered the Salmon dinner, which cost over 20 dollars. When I got it, the salmon fillet was dry and bland, the asparagus overcooked, and the french fries tasted old. The portions were ok, but the food tasted so terrible I didn't eat it.

My nephew, however, ordered the bucket of mussells. He got more shells than mussells. He ate the rest of my meal to satisfy his hunger.

My husband ordered the seafood platter and said, "It wasn't anything special. Definitely not worth what we paid for it."

In addition this, the service was poor and we had to ask more than once for such items as napkins, dipping sauces, and refills. The restaurant wasn't even that busy.

I don't recommend this restaurant. You could get much better for much better prices with much better service elsewhere.
