The Scene
This large Mediterranean-style mansion looks as if it has been lifted straight from the pages of a guidebook on Italy. The elegant 1925 inn is popular with leisure travelers, businesspeople and parents of students attending the nearby University of Puget Sound. While the setting is refined, the service is friendly and casual.
The Details
Each of the six rooms is generous in size, but antique furnishings and accents make them feel cozy and intimate. All have individual verandas, gas fireplaces and private baths. Those doing business on the road appreciate the two in-room phone lines. While the accommodations here are impressive, The Ravello is particularly notable. It is located in the former maid's quarters on the third floor and features a gas fireplace that can be manipulated from the bed, a claw-foot tub for two and eye-popping views of Puget Sound.
