  • Yoga for all levels

The first 8 Limbs Yoga Center opened on Capitol Hill's Pike/Pine District (500 East Pike St.) in 1996. The Wedgwood space was created in 1999 to bring this inclusive vision of yoga to Northeast Seattle. We hope, with the help of our neighbors, to foster a yoga center that meets the needs of the community.

Our mission at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers is to create a supportive and non-competitive atmosphere in which yoga practitioners can learn and grow with knowledgeable, creative, and friendly teachers. 8 Limbs teachers are committed to this practice, helping people to enjoy the condition of reality through group classes, private sessions and special workshops.

Some of our classes include: the basics, Ashtanga, gentle yoga and prenatal yoga. We have classes available for all ages and levels and for various needs.

Editorial Review for 8 Limbs Yoga Center-Wedgwood – by Citysearch Staff

The Scene
Owner Anne Phyfe Palmer wants students to explore a variety of hatha-yoga styles under one roof, which is not an option at many yoga studios in Seattle. Ashtanga, Iyengar, kundalini, prenatal and postnatal yoga are some of the classes she offers.

The Goods
You'll get what owner Anne Phyfe Palmer calls a "down-to-earth" yoga experience. Translation: Newcomers won't be intimidated, but classes will be enriching and challenging. In the gentle prenatal classes, students share issues so the class can be tailored to meet their needs, using postures that prepare them for labor and pregnancy pain. Mats and other props are available to use at no cost. A small selection of clothing, mats and music are available for purchase in the boutique.
