The Scene – Think modern sushi house, just out of the box: polished wood tables, washed lighting and young, helpful servers in black. With plenty of seating space and a dramatic lounge area, it's an ideal spot for appetizers and cocktails before a night out in Belltown. The staff knows what's freshest, so listen to their suggestions. – – The Food – Purists beware: Wasabi's sushi is not really about raw fish. This is sushi for people who might not even like sushi. Among the 22 specialty rolls, cream cheese, mayonnaise and avocado are used with abandon--and to…
Editor's Tips

When will Wasabi Re-Open?

I'm a big fan of Wasabi Bistro, but they've been closed a long time (as of December 2010). Please, fire your contractor, get one in that can do a better/faster job. The website originally said it would reopen in October, now they say February 2011, but I walk by everyday, and no work is being done.
The freshest nigiri sushi
by hufflepuffer at Citysearch
I had heard for years that Wasabi was good. I finally went for dinner and was impressed with the extensive menu. Our large group ordered a bunch of rolls. There were so many to choose from and when six of them came out, they were visually stunning. I liked them alright--- there's too much going on w/ tempura, sauce, the fish wrapped around the outside...they all seemed like versions of the same roll. Maybe we didn't choose well...dunno but next time I'll stick w/ the nigiri because the fish is really fresh and tasty and they don't skimp on portions like some places. I think I'm more of a purist when it comes to sushi but it's great for groups and there's something for everyone.
- Pros: Fresh seafood
good food, but what's with the day/lunch bartender?!
by JamieL99 at Citysearch
Decent food during happy hour, but I couldn't wait to get out of there! What is with the short, stocky blondish bartender during the weekday? By far the most unfriendly, irritable bartender I've met since I've been in Seattle. He could make an experience there so much better if only he'd take two minutes to acknowledge a customer and not seem so irritated by taking my order. And it wasn't like he was busy since there were only 2 other customers there at 4p! Someone remind him that Wasabi Bistro is not a swanky bar in NYC where hot bartenders might have some license to be cold.... Manager, lighten this guy up!
- Pros: Happy Hour is great! Sit at the sushi bar
- Cons: Day Bartender
Hopping Bistro in Belltown

If you're looking for good sushi in a happening spot with good service, Wasabi Bistro is it.
Serving Japanese fusion in a contemporary setting, Wasabi Bistro is always bustling. It's the perfect place to bring out of town guests as well as a first date.
Some items not to be missed are the warm mushroom salad and Romantic Mermaid roll. They also have a great happy hour with a variety of drink and food specials. I recommend the okonomiyaki seafood pancake, a rich seafood crepe, paired with the Pear Passion sake.
Valet parking is available evenings.
- Pros: scene, happy hour, service
Fantastic rolls!

Wasabi has some of the best rolls i've ever had...highly recommend volcano and rock star rolls. I prefer to sit at the bar. The bartenders are very friendly and provide great service.
- Pros: Sushi rolls, bartenders, manager
- Cons: hostesses aren't that friendly
