Best sushi Expirience in a while here. I came here and sat at the bar by myself for a quick bit after work last week. Solo dining makes me feel awkward, but the bar tender was very cool and answered all my questions about the menu as if he was going to prepare it himself. He even recommend a saki-martini thing that was really good to go with it. i have been here before at lunch and usually get the bento box, and have always had good service and food. this is always I place I recommend to people when they are venturing to Belltown.
Unprofesional management. I've been going to Wasabi for five years now. I really enjoyed dining here in the beginning, but gradually it has gotten worse and worse. I was there the other day with some business associates and was completely embarrassed by things that used to be better than average. The servers were unprofessional, inattentive, and lazy. Ours for example had her hair unkept, she was chewing gum and smelled like she had just been smoking. It was very hard to talk business because the music was much too loud. We also had to wait forever for our food and when it finally came, the quality of it wasn't very good. The chicken was dry, the salmon was overcooked, and our dessert had already melted once it had reached the table. The sushi was okay, but that was the only thing that I would not complain about after the experience. I feel sorry that what used to be such a good restaurant has sunk to such a low level.
I am the General Manager of the Wasabi Bistro and I would like to say first of all that I apologize for your dining experience. There is absolutely no excuse for this and I am not going to make one. We work very hard to make sure that every guest has a perfect experience at all times. We cannot rest on our laurels. This will be addressed immediately. I do ask of you to please dine with us again and give us another chance. I will make sure that your next experience is perfect. We will turn this negative into a positive quickly. I would love for you contact me at 206-441-6044. Thank you for your comment.
The green decadence roll is to die for. I am a freaquent visitor and I have to order the green decadence roll every time I come even though it's a vegitarian option. I'll get it even if I get a bento box. I do love this place for other reasons though. The atomosphere is cool and hip but by no means Seattle pretencious. I have been there for lunch, happy hour and dinner and always get great service.
Great Sushi but Brooks the server was the best part of our meal.
We travel back and fourth from I lLuv Sushi to Wasabi. The Sushi is better and bigger portions at Wasabi. But the service and Sushi Chef's at I Luv Sushi is better. The Chef's at ILS are very talkative and are eager to have you sample their Sushi specials.
At Wasabi they can hardly even look at you. Last night Brook served us at the S-Bar and he was great. Friendly attentive and we never had to look around for him or ask for anything. I give Wasabi 4 stars and Brooks 5.
You Don't Have To Love Sushi To Have A Fabulous Date Here. Are you looking for first-class, melt-in-your-mouth nigiri cut by an expert? Try Shiki in Queen Anne. If, however, what you crave is adventurous, non-traditional, delicious rolls served with drinks at midnight in a fun, people-watchy environment, come on in! Wasabi Bistro feels a bit glamorous--though not intimidatingly so--and so it's a great place to go on a date, provided you show up late so it's not too crowded. Or show up with a group of friends. If you can swing it, the happy hour has amazing deals. Turn the menu right over to the rolls section: the flash-fried rolls and the rolls with spicy mayo are the ones you want... if you don't want to eat rice for some reason, I highly recommend the sashimi salads. Mmmmm!
Couldn't live without it. I am at Wasabi at least once during the week and one of the weekend nights every week and it is always wonderful. The rolls are to die for and the service is always extremely attentive. I saw the last review and that's funny because I was there last night (fri.) and there was over an hour wait at 8:30. I've sat at the sushi bar, in the bar area, and the regular dining area and had many different servers and they are all so good and so cute. I do think that the guys behind the sushi bar could be a bit more social though. I come back for so many things: the food, the service, the beautiful crowd, the buzz.
Worst Sushi Experience. First off, when we arrived the place wasn't even that busy. There were about 5 tables max on a Friday night. The atmosphere was decent when we walked in but we felt like we were being schmoozed by the wait staff as if they're looking for us to dig deep in our pockets for a good tip. The staff messed up our order twice and then messed up our bill by overcharging us for things we didn't order or eat. We sat at the sushi bar and the chefs wouldn't even talk to us. The spent their time making radishes into flowers or cucumbers into pinwheels. Basically useless decoration... When the chefs finally got our order, we watched them make our nigiri first and then let it sit on the counter top for about 10 minutes while some kid very poorly made our rolls. This was the worst sushi restaurant we've ever been to, don't plan on going there again, and will steer any friend from going there.
