Editorial Review for Spa Nordstrom - Downtown Seattle – by Kerry McDonald
The Scene
Massage rooms feel more like mini-guest suites in a five-star hotel; plush linens, sleek fixtures and marbled showers wrapped in earthy tones set a luxurious tone. Stop in during the week and you'll barely see another face besides your own. Services can be used for a quick recharge, but staying a little longer is the way to experience true nirvana.
The Services
Among the 15-plus body therapies is the Java Lulur, a jasmine body exfoliation and honey-yogurt wrap; after 20 minutes in the cocoon, the toughest part is sliding your jelly-like body into the private shower for a quick rinse. Need to unwind after a tough workout? Try the hot stone massage, where warm stones are used as an extension of the hands to reach deep into the muscles to revitalize the body.
The Details
Massage, body treatments, wet treatments, facials, hair removal, sunless tanning, manicure/pedicure, full-service salon.

Don’t waste your time or money! My husband and I went for massages just recently. Any review that claims this is an “oasis” is absolutely misleading. We try out a different spa each month for our monthly massage date and will never return to this spa. I chose this place because of reviews on this site. My therapist had me change in one room and leave all of my belongings folded on a table in an unlocked room, to be moved to another room later. I really felt uneasy about leaving my purse and other belongings. In a typical spa, there is a separate changing area with locking lockers to secure your belongings. We were both brought to the “relaxation” area, which is anything but. They really need to block it off from the noise. Staff members are constantly walking back and forth, the hallway was noisy and there was a lot of loud talking and doors slamming. It was not serene. Neither massage was very good, they were lackluster at best. After our massages, we felt rushed. We were told to get dressed in the same room as our massages. We were each asked if we wanted to purchase any products, then led to the front desk waiting area. Again, in a typical spa- you are taken back to a relaxation area, in your robe ,for as long as you wish. Typically you are offered water, tea, etc. before taking whatever time you need to get cleaned up and dressed. Not at this spa. There is not an opportunity to relax afterwards; you can’t take a shower, nothing. It really was a very poor experience. I can not speak about the salon area as I did not tryout any of those services. Salon services appear to be in a separate area. There are some great pampering spas in the Seattle area. This is not one of them! We would NOT recommend to our friends.
Pros: none
Cons: Can't relax or shower after services

I tried this place out last week and it was just what i expected. At the very least it was much more enjoyable than my first facial at some little rinky dinky place. This place isnt huge but instead of say small I would definatly say it was cozy. My facialist knew what she was doing and my face has never looked better. Ill be back:)
Pros: Skill, atmosphere
Cons: can be a bit pricey, but worth it
