The View
At 270 feet, this natural wonder is the main attraction of Snoqualmie. Day-trippers park in the free lot and check out the falls from the observation deck at the top, while romancing overnighters stay at the plush Salish Lodge. Downtown Snoqualmie offers a variety of unique antique shops along with the well-known Snoqualmie Brewery.
The Experience
A steep half-mile hike will lead you down to the base of the falls. If you don't want to hike, the park above has an excellent lookout point for waterfall-gazing without the work. Perched atop the falls, dining reservations at the Salish Lodge will not disappoint. For TV buffs, both the waterfall and lodge gained notoriety after they were featured in David Lynch's cult TV series "Twin Peaks."

Snoqualmie Falls is breathtaking. Wear comfortable shoes if you want to walk down to the bottom of the Falls. The town of Snoqualmie is also worth a visit. Found a delightful place to eat, Snoqualmie Brewery and Tap Room. We live on the east coast but hope to get the opportunity to visit the west coast again soon.

My husband and I are transplants from Texas. So, we seem to have visitors every month or so. Every time we have guests in town, we try to make time for Snoqualmie Falls. Inevitably, Snoqualmie Falls ends up being everyone's favorite part of the trip. Highly recommended. No dogs are allowed on the premises though - we didn't know and brought our puppy. He was too little to leave him in the car, so I zipped him into my jacket. No one seemed to mind :) We were very disappointed by how very expensive Salish is. My hubby and I went up to Snoqualmie Falls for the first time on our one year anniversary. We decided to have lunch at the lodge. We took one look at the menu and gasped at how expensive it was. We consider ourselves "foodies" and regularly eat at nice restaurants all over Seattle - but I just can't believe the food is so extraordinary at Salish as to warrant such ridiculous prices for something like a salad! Best advice - take a picnic and some hot chocolate!
