The regulars come here because they're not looking for dart boards, pull tabs or smoky air. The small bar and larger dining room have art lining the walls and flowers on the cozy tables. The resulting atmosphere is more "casual date" than after-work watering hole, but is fine for both. Servers are pleasant and willing to make recommendations about the food and neighborhood.
The Food
Good, shareable dishes include a steak salad with blue cheese that's as tasty as it is giant, and a delightful spinach, mushroom and cheese quesadilla on whole-wheat pita. Burgers are charbroiled and served with near-perfect shoestring fries, and pork chops with cabbage and buttery spaetzle are hot and hearty. More ambitious dishes, including a not-so-spicy penne, are decent, but fail to make a flavorful impression.

My friends and I have a sort of "HH club" where we try different places for HH periodically and we all give kudos to Greenlake Bar & Grill as having one of the most decent HH food for the value. For the prices you get pretty decent sized portions of your basic menu items, such as wedge and Caesar salads, burgers, fries, etc. Drinks specials also during HH.

We have never had a bad experience here. We come here about every 2-3 weeks and even went before a show at Benaroya Hall the other night, (all dressed up.) It's so comfortable there, neighborhood pub, yet family restaurant--is that alright? Sure it is!! The happy hours prices are outrageous-the Blackened Salmon is superb--the Sweet Potato fries are delicious...combine the salmon w/a sm. wedge salad-and viola!--In the summer, you walk around Greenlake, then go to the restaurant. Very friendly service.Highly recommend.Only downfall is they have one potty per gender. But, I can live with that.

As others said, it really is fabulous. The prices are fantastic and the food is good. The problem is that the bar is pretty small. The outdoor seating is amazing in the summer. The people watching is fantastic. You can see everyone out and about walking Greenlake.
