This casual, chic restaurant with extraordinary neighbors—Willows Lodge to one side and the Herbfarm to the other—is a destination in its own rite. Chef Bobby Moore treats the rustic space like his own dining room, regularly sharing a laugh with familiar diners and jovially creating a seasonally-changing rotation of dishes that highlight the best of what the PNW has to offer: seafood, farm-fresh veggies and locally raised meats. A circular communal table with fire pit makes the coziest of cold night seats, while the outdoor patio is filled on warm summer evenings. Don’t be intimidated by the…

Love the firepit seating & food, service & wine value ok

by vcannady at Citysearch

Seating at their center fire pit alone almost merits four stars - plenty of room and you can feel the heat from it which is wonderful.

The food is also flavorful, well-portioned, and delicious. $14 lunch lamb burger was well worth the value.

Where I drop stars:

I would only go when it's slow, like for a late lunch. Or possibly an early dinner. Request the fresh bread and sun dried tomatoes right away, mine came out 2 minutes before my meal.

Red wine by the glass averages $14-16, one option at $9. In this arena Purple really competes. At least two $8-11 local options would have been nice.

I posted a picture of their fire pit seating.

AMAZING beat salad!

by gakester8 at Citysearch

My husband and I keep forgetting to try out this place and I am sure sorry we'd waited this long! We had their Dine Around Seattle 3 for $30 meal + $15/person wine pairings. Everything was amazing - especially the beat salad (and I love beat salads) and braised short ribs! Their ginger scallops and beef tartar were also tasty! The wine pairings worked well. Yum! I can't wait to go back!

The only negative thing for me was that we said at their fireside table and felt many cold breezes from the front door being used. Service was also timely and friendly.

  • Pros: good food and wine
  • Cons: cold breezes when sitting by the door

YUM!!!

LOVE The Barking Frog!!! Had the tasting menu which was exquisite!!! Some of my favorites... the Grand Marnier Prawns - too die for! - and there was a dish, I can't remember the name but it was a piece of Ahi and a house-smoked short rib. Honestly, I could have eaten the ahi and rib again for dessert - it was amazing!!! The wine was also fabulous. Top notch food and excellent service, not too stuffy, FABULOUS!!!!

The Barking Frog really barks

by sherona at Citysearch

We don't quite know what to say about this restaurant. The food is quite extraordinary almost worth the price charged. Definitely not geared to a dinner for 2. It appears they cater to company dinners from conferences held at Willows. These tables for 2 are maybe 18 inches apart. There was a party of 20 & several parties of 6-8 and the noise level was horrendous, we were 3 feet apart & had to really raise our voices to be heard. Due to the large parties, our waiter had the 20 top, service was really terrible, finally a food deliverer took pity on us and asked if we needed anything and brought us water & drinks. Maybe during the weekend would be better. We were there on a Friday night. Again, we had trout & beef cheeks, both really good. Not what we expected for ambiance.

Great night

by billbo316 at Citysearch

We had a great night there. The food was very favorful, the server was professional but not stuffy, and the wine list was good. Don't go there if you are in a hurry or don't want to spend 70.00 plus for dinner. But if you want a good dinning experience, I think it's in the top 10 in the Seattle area, and I eat out a lot.

  • Pros: A really great night out
  • Cons: expect to pay for a quality night
